  1. Well, the whole conference is getting better/stronger, as I see it the only teams tha will really struggle are E. & C. Mich, the Tol program might not be as tuff as the past few yrs-- I don't see the MAC declining much in the next few yrs, assuming to coaching changes. Maybe Laing Kennedy at Can't won't have to "sell" the conference to the NCAA tourney, at least we can hope that the conference will speak for itself .
  2. Thanks for thje info-- if we have to depend on the Broken Urnal for any info on the Zip WE'RE ALL IN TROUBLE.
  3. And your point is????????? I take it that you think we are going to remain the same or worse-- we have some pretty good recruits coming in.
  4. If you are in MAC office, you should expend your efforts on getting the 9th rated basketball conference some bids to the NCAA tourney.
  5. The Zip Strip LOOKS like a slum!!!!!!!!!??????????? IT IS.
  6. Still don't think the Browns are smart enough to draft Frye--they did not draft Ben and I think the Browns drafted before the 'Burgh. I really don't pay attention to Pro ball (MLB NFL NBA) so I might be wrong but what little attention I do pay I think I'm right about Ben. The only difference between Ben and Charlie are about 4 wins per season.
  7. Look back--=Clev St. few yurs back beat a poor Hoosier team and made a "Name" for themselves. Can't St. had an opportunity and made the best of it, W. Ky was a recent Sweet 18 team and all these wins led to a "Name" which NCAA/NIT people pay a lot of attention to--we will have to make our own name by winning some games. But all that said, there are teams in both that do nmot have the RPI that the Zips have/had. The press gushing about Buffalo has some validity so when we winn 22-25 games the press will gush about the Zips (not really, because the Broken Urnal won't gush, they'll flush).
  8. Love you Minday morning Quaterbacks.
  9. As far as I know the roster is full with the incoming recruting classs.
  10. Come on folks read the stats WMU 24 FTs Zips 8, GET THE MESSAGE???
  11. The Akron U thing has been around since it was a City University--why I don't know but old habits die hard-- I still call it the JAR, see what I mean?
  12. Many years ago I decided all I can do about attendence is to be responsible for me and the family members I could make attend the games. Now I'm only responsible for me amd I was there tonite.
  13. If you are talkimg FB, YES, but I don't know whom filled the position. He replaced Verdugo.
  14. I've only been on this board for a short time, but I think that had someone told us at the beginning of the season we would have the record we have we'd ALL taken it and run!!!! RIGHT?
  15. RealTomeRPI.com still has Zips @ #38 not too bad. Wish we had a player like Gerwig-- he competes, all is not lost folks, some of you think the season is over--IT AIN'T!
  16. Can't is lost somewhere in the swamps of Portsge County, their basketball program will set in the future and the Zios will start the decline Saturday.
  17. Posters: RealtimeRPI.com has the Zips at 37.
  18. There are ALWAYS someone out there with a negative attitude, I go back a LONG time and here are those that were critical of tems for various reason of those coached by Laterza, Webb, Huggins-- so the crepe hangers are always out there, along with their "inside information, or astute obsevations, they cannot or will not wnjoy the ride. THEY LOVE THE BUMPS.
  19. GHreat game: we plucked some Redhawk feathers, great coaching, the best game in 151/2 years. Thanks to KD and Mike Thomas.
  20. I heard this discussed lst nite-- the margin of victory no longer counts, it is weighted wins on the road and your opponent's strength of sched-- your opponents opponents weight (and record) and so on. I think the Purple Eagle feathers we plucked was HUGE.
  21. I agree, but using a Calif player as an example is not good-- he was probably drunk on FRESH AIR!!
  22. I go mit FB Keith recruited the Fersh ,Soph, & Jrs. We would be lost w/o them. I have known keith since he was GA and really like the guy so would rather vote for him, but JD has done the more creditable job. Mike Thomas, thank you.
  23. The third post prior to this must be related to the loser-- the 2 posting followin are right to the point. Keith is the best at game management and I've been around since Laterza's day. Thaaaaaank you Mike Thomas.
  24. CAN WE ALL AGREE THAT THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO THE bb PROGRAM IS TO GET HIPSHER'S SORRY BUTT OUT OF THE COACHING POSITION?
  25. The Zips laid one on the Purple Eagles tonight despite (perhaps because of) a dirty undercut of Preston, That woke up the Zips (missed the ft though). Has I been the official I would have tossed his butt out of the game Now if we can pluck a Redhawk we'll be in good shape.
