  8. =>Garcia story: http://ilprepbu.ipower.com/page43.htmlBTW, I assume the "Miami" listed for Garcia is the Miami Hurricanes. You can catch a replay of Nik Garcia (and his AAU teammate Marcus Jordan-MJ's son) on ESPNU. They are showing the AAU Supershowcase from Orlando. You will see their team (Rising Stars of Illinois) play Athletes First (out of Oklahoma). ESPNU will be showing replays at various times throughout the week. Check your T.V. schedules.

I interviewed him at the Miami Elite Camp.http://miamiohio.scout.com/2/766270.htmlHere is the Elite Camp Evaluation:http://miamiohio.scout.com/2/766047.htmlThey are premium articles-at least the Orlando Williams feature is premium. The Elite Camp story was free for a day and then was to go premium.

  11. =>Dear GameChngr54 (AKA "Zeke Marshall's mom"),As I have read through this and other threads, you have indicated that your son Zeke is strongly considering the Akron Zip basketball program. As I think all the fine Zip fans here would agree, it is important to make an “informed” decision about the schools a student-athlete is considering. As such, as an unbiased and neutral observer* , below are some facts about Akron that you may or may not know:UA’s President is actually a CIA operative who requires all incoming freshman to be barcoded and microchipped.James A. Rhodes Arena (AKA the “JAR”) was built on the site of an ancient Indian burial ground and is now inhabited by poltergeist. Also, the oldest building on Akron’s campus was designed and built by a Gozer worshipper. The old football stadium, the Rubber Bowl, is not actually made out of rubber. An egregious case of false advertising. At no point in recent history has Canada or Pennsylvania attempted to annex Akron. That is telling.Coach Dambrot believes “Coach Keith Dambrot” is an anagram for “I AM LORD VOLDEMORT.” Sure the letters do not match up…maybe he has a learning disability.Akron is Browns country. No place for someone from western Pennsylvania. Akron greatest contribution to scientific research was the chemical formula for crack cocaine. Hence the reason UA is known nationwide as crAkron.Akron’s chemistry department is actually a working meth lab. Proceeds from meth sales fund the athletic department.Akron’s male to female ratio of 99 to 1 makes it very difficult for male students to get dates.Akron spelled backward is Norka. wink wink.Coach Dambrot has warrants in Fargo. That is why Akron never plays a road game in North Dakota.A common misconception is that Zippy is a student inside a ‘Roo costume. In actuality, Zippy is a live giant rodent who is fed newborn babies by the athletic booster club (which is a front for an ancient pagan rat worshipping cult). On a road trip to Ohio University back when Dambrot coached Central Michigan, he shot and killed one of his players for snoring too loud. It was well covered up of course. If you play the Akron fight song backwards you can faintly hear a distorted “666” and “Paul is dead.”* As I said above, I am an unbiased observer. In no way am I bringing about the above facts out of concern that your son will face my alma mater (Miami) 2 or 3 times a year for 4 seasons. That has never even entered into my mind. I just wanted to present to you the facts about Akron. Like Fox News, I am fair and balanced.
  12. =>Kentucky fielded a pretty weak team. Weakest I have ever seen in fact. They had two players who are walking on UK and 2 others who have been invited to walkon. A few other midmajor players and the rest D2, D3, NAIA, or JUCO prospects. Compare that to the Ohio roster. Ohio was up 60-34 at the half.RostersKENTUCKY BOYS Adam Delph; Lou. 13. =>Saw him at the Ohio-Ky All-star game over the weekend. He is WAY TOO QUICK. A true jitterbug point guard. Defensively, he was hounding the Kentucky players. You all will enjoy him.
  14. =>That is what Miami had last year. 6 MAC East games and 1 game vs. BSU. The other 5 games were OOC games vs. BCS teams.
  15. It's shame that Ben Mauk from Cincinnati wasn't granted another year of eligibility. Watched him in high school down at Paul Brown w/ Kenston and would have loved to see him play in person again.=>Akron ducking Miami??? :DSomeone on MiamiHawktalk.com said he/she got this Miami football schedule (below) from an inside source. Note that Akron is not on Miami's schedule and Miami has only 5 MAC East games. What if Akron has 6 MAC East games and like last year, only division game count? Say Miami goes 5-0 and Akron 6-0...is Akron then the MAC East Champs?Glad the MAC brought in Temple to create all this crazy scheduling?? Of course, this schedule may all be bologna. It has not been offically posted on www.muredhawks.com yet.8/28 Vanderbilt 9/6 @ Michigan 9/13 Charleston Southern 9/20 @ UC 9/27 bye 10/4 Temple 10/11 @ Northern Illinois 10/18 @ Bowling Green 10/25 Can't State 11/4 (tues) @ Buffalo ESPN2 11/11 Ball State ESPN2 11/22 @ Toledo 11/28 (fri) Ohio

  17. =>Some say it is because hauckie has dwarfed basketball. The hauckie team does get 3 times as many students as basketball. Others blame it on Charlie Coles basketball. Too boring, blah, blah, blah. Yet, it is the same style Herb Sendek used in the mid-1990s and that Charlie used in his run the Sweet 16. During those times, students had to come 1 hour before the game to get a good seat.I think the problem is Miami overschedules during the non-league season resulting in poor records going into MAC play. Going into the 1st Akron game (1st MAC game), Miami was 6-6 overall after playing the #1 toughest schedule out of 341 teams per the RPI (Xavier, UD, UC, Wright St., Kansas, Illinois, Mississippi St., USC, S. Alabama, Louisville). Considering that most of those games were on the road, that really ain't that bad. Then Miami started the MAC on the road @ Akron and @ Ohio before coming home to play Can't. Boom...Miami is 6-9 and 0-3 in the league.
  18. =>Yes, yes. Kneel before Zod!
  19. I Guess To me, it (Mollaut's rant) was intended to be reminiscent of the style of General George Patton's speeches to his troops in WWII which were fraught with fervor and venom in an effort to motivate.=>There was a little Karate Kid ("Mercy is for the weak. The weak deserve no mercy.") and Revenge of the Nerds ("You just got you @sses beat by a bunch of gawd d@mn nerds. NEEERRRDDDS!") in there too.
  20. Forget the post. The whole thread is worth reading...especially page two. This is the final straw for me as far as Mollutt somehow trying to pass himself off as a Zips fan. The sweaters have really shown how low class they really are in that thread. =>News to me. I have never noticed Mollutt passing himself off as a Zips fan.
  21. =>I am here. I take crow medium rare please! =>I sit near the tunnel where both happened. The guy chasing the refs was not a member of the basketball program. Rather, he was the 6th Man Club honorary coach of the game. Basically, just a fan who was randomly selected to sit at the end of the bench. He went a little nutty obviously. =>The assistant coach was Associate Head Coach Jermaine Henderson. I saw him talking to a medium member (I guess it was Alexander per others in this thread, but I do not know what Alexander looks like, so...). It was right in front of me. I could not hear what was said. It looked like Jermaine was mildly upset about something (as opposed the 6th Man Coach of the Day above), but I do not think he was necessarily upset with the writer. My 2 cents.*******Enjoyed your Rowdies. I think they were instrumental in the victory. Totally made it a neutral court game...which sucked for us of course. Now, tell them they are no longer welcome back!
  22. =>Haha! I was not talking about last night of course, um, I was talking about in the MAC tourney when it matters.
  23. =>Howdy ho folks! The battle for one of the two open byes commences again tomorrow night in John D. Millett Hall on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. More important than a bye is the coveted #3 seed (AKA...stay the hell away from Can't and the other 2 good MAC East teams who will finish in the #4 and #5 spots).Last time these two met, Miami was the walking wounded. Akron got the long awaited revenge. Now, Akron comes in with the bandaged and broken bodies. Miami is now the hunter. For those who will not be in attendance, be reminded that the game is scheduled for ONN.******MAC Tourney If Today (02/18/08):First Round (Cleveland): Wednesday, March 12, 2008GM 1: 8. 24. =>I did not attend the game, just listened on radio. I did not hear anthing about Bramos' abilities being hampered one way or the other during the broadcast. The announcers did speculate that he must still be hurt because his level of play is not were it was.
