  1. These are some of the examples of snubs we had in the early 2000s, but it also illustrates have far we've fallen as a conference. We no longer produce NBA players. Ball State alone beat a 1 seed and a 8 seed in the same season. This year arguably our best OOC win as a conference as a whole was Ohio knocking off NIT 6th seed GT. It just seems so many programs like Miami, Ball State, and Bowling Green who once invested in their basketball program quit caring
  2. I agree, I'd say it's quite the opposite. Sometimes he just tries to do too much instead of taking what the defense gives him. You can question the effort of some players at the time, but even when Kwan has a bad game it's not because he didn't give forth the effort.
  3. Yes, he must need better sources.
  4. Kwan 35 points away from 1,000. Would certainly require at least 1 more Zips win.
  5. TV is saying we'll be playing Monday at Arlington at 8PM. The 1, 2, and 3 seeds in our region have all lost.
  6. If you click on his tweet you'll see he said UT-Arl arena is under renovation. The TV broadcasters however said winner of BYU-UTA hosts Akron. We'll find out whose right if this score holds.
  7. Both these teams like to push the ball. Already 41-38 with 7 minutes left in 1st half.
  8. Most single season wins in Zips history.
  9. come on just 1 stop away
  10. Make these for the love of God.
  11. He has 4 fouls.
  12. Houston 10-10 from the line. Must be nice having a team that can make their free throws.
  13. Allowing fast breaks off made buckets. Come on guys get back on D.
  14. Antino only one playing D.
  15. We take a lot of poor shots. Got to move it around and get good looks. No need to take contested 17 footers or 26 foot 3's.
  16. Quit with the deep 3's
  17. I watched the 1st half of that game before going to bed. Watching that game you could tell CSUB came out treating it like it was the most important game of their season. Cal players were treating it like it was their last class before spring break. It translated into a CSUB 45-19 lead going into halftime. It appears Cal stepped up their play in the 2nd half, but that margin was too much to overcome. Zips need to come out with that same energy. The NIT isn't the NCAAT, but it's still a huge upgrade over the CBI or CIT. Don't take the opportunity for granted.
  18. Northwestern will never be Michigan or Ohio State, but they have made bowl games playing in a competitive conference in 7 of the past 9 seasons. You don't do that by not caring. As Zippy 5 pointed out Nebraska is damn good. Iowa State is just now heading into year 2 with Campbell and I believe they have started to recruit better since he headed to town. Hard to forecast where that program will be in 2018. I hope we can find a way to win 1 of these 3 games plus whatever FCS scrub team we face so we can go 2-2 and st ourselves up for a winning season. It won't be an easy task.
  19. Toledo-WMU had like 5,300 in 2014. There are a lot of Ohio alumni living in NEO. I'd say Miami-Ohio would at the very least meet that.
  20. You are right we did. 6,856 was their attendance.
  21. Like that we allowed a team like Northwestern buy us instead of a Oklahoma, OSU, or Wisconsin. That 2018 OOC schedule actually scares me. We need to string together winning seasons to build our program. I'm not sure we're ready for this tough of a schedule.
  22. Figured I'd post some of the attendance figures for the MAC and of its competitors in regards to Championship game attendance. MAC - 10,376 C-USA - 6,176 SunBelt - TBD (Played in 10,000 arena that was not even close to being full) CAA - 6,342 Horizon League - 5,929 WCC - 8,179 B1G - 12,902 MVC - 11,744 The B1G only beat us by ~2,500 fans (can blame Kent for not pulling their weight) and we outperformed our peers besides the MVC who we were a shade behind. Good job Zips Nation.
