  1. Zips need to do a better job of finishing near the rim.
  2. Game is Thursday at 7. Tickets are $6 or 4 for $20. http://www.gozips.com/sports/wbkb/2015-16/releases/20160315ffpizn
  3. I feel it should be a program by program basis. No need for a program like Miami, whose fallen on hard times, to schedule a bunch of opponents they have little to no chance of beating. Akron's schedule is great for a program that is trying to establish itself and a culture of winning, but it has outgrown it.
  4. I feel getting NEO fans to cheer for Akron basketball over tOSU basketball isn't that much of a stretch. Now getting them to cheer for Akron football over tOSU football...
  5. The funny thing is had we sacrificed a Coppin State or Bethune-Cookman home game in the regular season to take the cash and play at OSU like we are being forced to now, we might of at least been in a position for our name to appear on the screen of 20+ "bubble teams" during the selection show and be hosting an NIT game.
  6. That schedule looks good to me as long as we get those Radford and Hampton games at home. I feel at this point Akron is above playing those teams on the road.
  7. I feel if we were to play 2 of those type of teams and 1 P5 football school (Penn State, Alabama, Nebraska, Auburn, etc.). I'd also like 1 fewer MEAC game and have that replaced with a home and home with a JMU, Belmont, SFA, Valpo, or some other high mid major.
  8. We haven't been able to prevent dribble penetration all season. We aren't going to suddenly start game 35 vs. 1 of the most athletic teams that we have faced all season. If that's your key to the game, we have already lost. We need to be able to put the ball in the net, limit our opposition to 1 shot per possession, and win the turnover battle. That is our only hope.
  9. I was lurking in an OSU fan forum and came a crossed this "OSU's opponents get 32.4% of their points from three pointers, putting the Bucks in 292nd place in defending the three. This is not a good match up playing the team who lives by the three ball more than any other."
  10. It appears not... http://www.gozips.com/sports/mbkb/2015-16/releases/20160313vrt8gd
  11. Tickets go public at 1 PM http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/031316aaa.html
  12. I would have went to the game had it been at the JAR, but I don't have cable and the NIT dicking us over gives me no incentive to go out of my way to watch. Edit: I wish the Zips the best of luck. Go ZIPS!
  13. +1 it's ridiculous to think teams are running away from Akron. If anything Akron is the one running away by not accepting guarantee games. You have to earn other programs respect before they will agree to come to your place.
  14. I've seen this Akron as a 6 seed floated around, but do we have sources stating that or just speculation?
  15. I feel the teams that have been the most successful against us are the teams that have single guarded big dog. He's so good passing out of double teams that so often times his passes lead to open 3 looks or uncontested cuts to the basket.
  16. At some point in the post season you know a 3 point shooting team is going to have an off shooting night. You just hope on those nights that you can find some other way to win and not let it cost you your season. The Zips managed to survive to live another day.
  17. I wasn't going to initially make the trip up to Cleveland this weekend because money is a little tight for me at the moment, but seeing the women up 5 at the half and the men facing the #12 seed if both teams can take care of business today the chances of winning 2 MAC titles within hours of one another might be too much for me to pass up.
  18. Of note UAB fell yesterday. That should help Marshall's chances of winning the CUSA title.
  19. I feel the schedule looks better now than what it looked at the start of the season as teams like Green Bay and Marshall have played better than anticipated. Iona lived up to expectation and UCSB still has chance to make noise in their conference. I still would have liked to see Akron vs. a mid-tier Big 10 or a similar caliber team from another conference even if that meant sacrificing 1 home game to do so. Overall Akron had a great season, but without a top 50 win on the resume, it cripples any hope for an at-large to the point teams have leaped them in the discussion despite Akron having a better record than them while playing a tougher SOS. It also hinders their chances of getting anything better than a 12 seed the times that they do win the MAC.
  20. They are $10 http://www.theqarena.com/events/detail/mac-160309-12
  21. SDSU nearly fell to the Aggies before pulling away in the final 10 seconds. Relevant because SDSU is one of the few 1 bid conference teams remaining that would be seeded above Akron assuming that they win their tournament.
  22. Akron's RPI has climbed to #29 with the win. Lot of games going on today so it is highly likely that number will change one way or another by days end.
