  1. Hate them all and want to add BG after Tuesday night.
  2. I ran the simulator. Akron back to #1 and then we weren't. just too much that can happen over 2 games. i can't even see an advantage to #1 or #2 looking at all the other seeds.
  3. I think we can all count on the Broncos to choke.
  4. Wow. What a crazy turn of events.
  5. Never a doubt!
  6. On that note, Torrey Patton scored the game winning 3 for CSU the other night. They should be back in the Horizon League Tournament.
  7. They ejected Pippen and another Kent guy called for a flop it something close to it.
  8. As Jackie Windon would say, "Someone (besides LCJ) needs to step up and be the man."
  9. Apart from Reece twisting his ankle in DeKalb, the Zips had a full team for each game until this snafu. Guys didn't show their signature poise that Groce always praises. They just need to see some shots go in.
  10. Rootstown CC in Athens tonight. How do I hate these schools and their fans .. Kittens are getting a little too big for their litter box...
  11. And Miami smacks down Central by 20. Central who beat BG.
  12. Absolutely. Think of the times we all lost our cool when our adrenaline is rushing. He always seems so happy and easy going on the court. Hopefully, his buds will play for him on Saturday.
  13. He gets to shoot but he may be on a one and done rule like Riak. They put him in to try and get something going. He just hasn't made one.
  14. I'd like a trip to the semi-finals. And, yes, I look at what side of the draw is easier. #2 may be the better spot. I saw Dawson in practice and he was making 3s from all over the place. One of these days he will connect. But again...all those 3s. There was another game in which they weren't hitting 3s and changed their strategy and went inside and won. Dont remember what game that was.
  15. A good time to re-open this thread: 1. There's a photo from the Ball State game a few posts above. LCJ, Tribble, X, Reece, and Banks. That was an awesome game. Most fun of the season at the JAR apart from UMass game. 2. Zips had 4 out of 5 games on the road before getting OU and PCCC at home. That looked brutal on paper. My thought was that Zips would/had to win against Central, Western, and Miami because of the obvious struggles they were going to have at BG and Canada. 3. Not sure why the guys lost their cool at BG. If they don't lose their cool then maybe it's a 9-10 point game and a respectable split season with the rebuilt Falcons. 4. Clark's stats on X are crazy. His performance really freed up the other players and that good shooting is contagious. He was doing what a senior transfer is supposed to do in that he made an immediate difference. 5. Zips shattered their road woes this season and won a few even when X wasn't playing well. I think a fully staffed BG team lost by 10 at Central Michigan. Zips won that easily. 6. I wouldn't say the Zips are snake bit. Most of the teams have or had some issues. BG lost Frye for a few weeks, PCCCs Pippen having back problems. OU's Dartis is off and on with injuries. BG and Huger have been on a rebuild for 5 years and two of those years had first round exits and no trips to Cleveland. And any of the 10 top teams could knock them out if they get a bad draw and a bad night. 7. Unfortunately, it's been an attrition down to LCJ as the only player they can count on to keep it together. Those seniors: are they thinking about only having 5 or 6 games left? Two wins at home and a #2 seed is good enough for me, but I can get back on the ledge at any moment.
  16. minor hiccup on the way to Saturday night in Cleveland?
  17. What a cluster for the program at the biggest game of the season. LCJ is always a class act. Banks has been pushing the envelope and now this. Expecting a blow out Saturday. Or as Clark would say, 'This is why we can't have nice things."
  18. This is great info. Occasionally, it's just something simple. That stat explains it all.
  19. Good season. Much improved record. But some of the demons we saw the last few years are slowly coming back to the surface
  20. If there are a lot of 3s clanking off the rim in Buffalo, the Zips will have trouble because of Buffalo's superior rebounding. The Coach can only design plays to help the guys get open looks, but he can't make them fall. Just have to hope the Zips can snap out of it. There's really no way to make sense of it. 0-1 and move on.
  21. Zips will be 5-2 heading into the Ball State game.
  22. moot point at this juncture.
  23. 8-4. Book it!
  24. NIT doesn't do much for me (just speaking for myself) since they surely will be sent on the road. Apart from Western or Miami and maybe Central, I think any team could win. Advantage to BG with the depth. And I can easily see the story line of former BG player turned coach leads his team to first NCAA Tournament bid since the 60s with Justin Turner as the tourney MVP.
  25. BG deserves #1 seed and an opportunity to beat Toledo for the 3rd time in the quarterfinals.
