  1. It's tough to make a decision on this until I see how this year's team plays over the next month. I don't think we've had a player with the "coolness" of Tyler Cheese. He reminds me so much of Buffalo's Jeremy Harris. LCJ's performance this year is like nothing I've previously seen on an Akron team. They've had some good players over the years that could shoot the 3 ball but none ever seemed to improve from year to year. Reggie and Jake played the same for four years. Occasionally, they would get hot for a couple games but weren't consistent. McNees and Roberts were somewhat better, but I don't remember Roberts making the big play other than from the FT line. Bosley, Andrick, Ball, and the Hipshers are my earliest memories and that is a blur.
  2. We (mostly @ClarkGriswold) are getting greedy. We want those double digit wins even on the road!. Without X or Channel not making 3s consistently, these are and will be 1-2-3 possession games. Sigh.
  3. A colleague at work who is going on Saturday was upset they moved the game. It's an awesome Saturday night activity. But it's better than Noon, 1pm, or 2pm for that matter. Not sure why they change it when the game isn't televised. Also, I looked at the ESPN schedule for Saturday's game and that "20-6" sure looks nice next to Akron!
  4. @MDzip. You are awesome. Wow. Hypothetically, I like the look of that #2 seed. The top bracket is a killing field.
  5. Anyway. My comment about Fonda wasn't meant to take political sides. It was just a reference to crazy Kent.
  6. a few years back, there was a MAC tournament simulator floating around the internet. You could plug in all of the different results and it would spout out all the seedings. Can't find it this year.
  7. You write like someone paying to hear Jane Fonda speak at PCCC at Ravenna.
  8. Zips v Ohio/EMU BGSU v Toledo/CMU NIU v WMU/Kent Buffalo v Miami/Ball State Zips win their remaining home games they have a Top 4 seed. Lots can happen.
  9. Here you go:
  10. X made the two biggest 3s of the season. It's almost like that Eastern Michigan win saved the season. There was a pall hanging over the JAR that fateful Saturday. Then X with the help of the Hurons Smallsville pulled off the miracle. The Zips aren't Buffalo of last year. They are a well-coached team that rode its starting 5 pretty hard for most of the season. They are playing way beyond predictions. They may go 0-2 on the road vs. Buffalo and BG, so these two wins and a win on Saturday would be huge.
  11. We are the only team to beat EMU in the last 5 games. Their last two were blow outs.
  12. Ball State and Kent State suck. Murphy is feeling a bit more secure now. He got T'd up at the end of the game. Ball State has Whitford until 2022. Our coaches always speak highly of Hawkins. I wonder why.
  13. Start up the bus.
  14. need to have that poise and connectivity to hold on to this one. love the Zips but just skeptical they can make it through the tournament. Seems to be one piece missing. This should be a blow out. All the games are close tonight. This thing is wide open.
  15. Apparently at Spitzer the world revolves around you!
  16. Allowing them to hang around. Johnson and Flowers got nothing to lose. Watch out.
  17. Time for a run..anytime now
  18. The first tournament in a long time, at least for me, in which I don't think the Zips "should" win or I know that Buffalo will win. I can foresee EMU causing all sorts of problems for one or two rounds and also can imagine Toledo or he Kittens getting hot from 3 on a Thursday afternoon in Cleveland and taking out a top 4 seed.
  19. How about just "Zips want to ease in down the road" and take out the rest
  20. Like Aaron Jackson?
  21. According to ESPN, he's in 3rd http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/conferences/statistics/player/_/id/14
  22. No where else to put this: LCJ is now the conference leader with 22.8 points per game. However, according to the MAC he's only played 10 conference games. WTF?
  23. Yeah. Annoying isn't it? Frankly, I was especially annoyed by Toledo and Ball State and their average coaches thus weekend. They could have done the Zips a favor but flopped at home. And Pinky also always does just enough to stay above mediocrity. And to bring it all together, PCCC travels to Ypsilanti on Tuesday.
  24. I will put this info here since there won't be too many posts leading up to this game. Akron is the best FT shooting team in the MAC. In conference play Akron is 81.2%. I looked at the three losses and found this interesting stat: Toledo: average 75% hit 89% (10 point loss) Buffalo: average 68% hit 87% (3 point loss) Ravenna: average 71% hit 80% (1 point loss) in that game Akron was 12-14 and Ravenna was 12-15.
