  1. I don't have the Kent Derangement Syndrome that @Let'sGoZips94 does 😀. But, wow Brimfield Tech's Freeman is such a typical Mr. Pinky player. It's like Jim Christian went to central casting and found him and brought him home.
  2. It's a beautiful day in the Rubber City. Mighty Pinky has struck out.
  3. Beyond stressful. Only had to watch the Bradley/SIU game the other night to know that no lead is safe. Zips have had slow first half and kill in 2nd. I thought it may be harder for them to hold on to a big lead as opposed to pulling away from a close game. nice long weekend for them. I for one dislike OU more than Kent even though @clarkwgriswold refers to Boals as "our friend."
  4. We've seen a couple of good/re-surgent MAC programs come into the JAR in BG and WMU. Both games played out the same. These games remind me of those early round NCAA games where the 15 seed keeps it close with the 2 seed for about 25 minutes of playing time only for #2 to get some big plays and pull away. The line of the game -14.5 was probably about right and didn't take into account the flu and a broken hand. Seems like when one of those guys makes a big play the others get going. We've seen a few Zips teams in the past miss the chances to put teams away. These guys made a few transition 3s that are daggers. I liked having Liles in. And Tavari, whom I'm never sure about, steps up when he's called upon. From my perspective, which is often wrong, Groce seems to be managing the game to keep Freeman out of foul trouble. As for Friday, Clark we are waiting...no expectations. These guys aren't feeling well and Coach Groce's dad is in bad shape. Kent is also struggling with issues. Fortunately, the Zips don't have to travel far this weekend and can be healthier for when Clark's friend Jeff Boals and the Kittens crawl into town Tuesday.
  5. Refs helped close that gap.
  6. We will see who wants it more. the team or the fans? Hoping a big crowd will motivate the Zips to leave it all on the floor. (Someone said WMU is legit. Or was it BG?)
  7. Will be an epic battle.
  8. Zips -12.5. Hmm. Ok. Would definitely make my evening less stressful.
  9. I have two Lower Bowl tickets and Tommy Evans passes available for tomorrow's game. Please send me a direct message if you would like them.
  10. Tribble had one of the 3s and the assist on the other 2.
  11. Western looked good but Ohio lost Elmore James early with an injury and also had tons of foul trouble. That being said, WMU will be coming to the JAR with confidence. and to state the utterly obvious, Zips can't do what they did last night and expect another easy win.
  12. Either you or Coach Groce is having a senior moment. Groce said after the game that an undefeated Bronco team is galloping into the JAR on Tuesday.
  13. excitement building in Muncie. 😇
  14. Let me add: yes, anything will help. Do what they can to get more people involved and present. Creating an overall game day experience would only benefit the team and fans. More social media and promotion of these amazing players would help. Comes back to the product. Make people want to see them. They should send out clips of the big plays . Get those up on social media with sound and editing. Something we can share and get some interest.
  15. I appreciate your posts, so please don't see this as an attack but isn't the "in-game experience" THE GAME! This isn't like going to a movie theatre...yeah, easier just to watch at home. The excitement is in seeing the last second shot, etc and being there. The entertainment is THE GAME. What has sucked forever and happens at every MAC school is the administration's inability to convince the pep band to be there for some of the games over break. I know I sound like an Ohio U person when I say that but it seem, from the posts on here, that folks want the traditional game atmosphere. Maybe I'm a different breed, but I've been to almost every home game for the last 25 years and, even in the early years, a promotion wasn't what got me there. I may have arrived earlier if there was a "first 500 fans receive..." My mother collected a bunch of taylor made jewelry balls and lots of t shirts at these games before she died but that wasn't why she attended. I do remember some dollar hot dog nights but, you know, times change. What matters is the product on the floor. And if that isn't driving people to the JAR giveaways aren't going to do it either.
  16. Better coach. Better players. Better culture. But, you know, cost of a soda.
  17. To be fair, it's really not the 10$ but the forcing folks to park there that is jarring (pun intended). So many are just cheap. Many have heard me tell the story about a couple I knew who procured floor seats for free for years and once that golden goose stopped laying they refused to come back even though for years they got some amazing entertainment and not amazing free meals in the Evans lounge.
  18. Post of the Year!
  19. I guess the question is "why not both?" Frankly, George Van Horn an Larry Williams were notorious for only courting the biggest of donors. However, they did have assistants, Brock Kline and Tim Faix, who did reach out to the smaller donors and developed relationships with them. Guthrie on down are imports, and you know they aren't going to be here long. On the other hand, Tim and Brock moved on as well. The Summit Circle and name recognition for larger donors is important, and they should be recognized for their commitment. Most of the Summit Circle members are successful Akron grads. Which leads to my next point: The focus should be more student outreach. Gets the students hooked now on Zips basketball. Of course, the basketball schedule falls smack in the middle of holidays and Winter break.
  20. Watched the end of their game against the Chippewas. Four turnovers (ball stolen) in final four possessions. Two of those turnovers they had chance to tie or win. The last two they didn't care.
  21. then you risk upsetting the ticket holders who paid for their seats, especially if you paid a lot for a single game ticket and then a bunch of folks surround you for free.
  22. so looks like these are seats available for purchase on the bench side. That's a lot of blue. You add in the ticket holders who don't show up and that's even more blue.
  23. It was on espn +. The replay is up now. Pinky majorly screwed up Broncos better without Norman. Addition by Subtraction.
  24. Crazy day in MAC. Hocking Hills breathes sigh of relief. Ball State loses at home to Central? Can't get any lower than that. If u want a nice evening watch the replay on espn+ of Kent game. Off the hook
  25. Officiating crew from H*^!. Game totally out of control. But impressed Zips stayed in it against that swarming defense. Ball State traveling fans easily most obnoxious I've encountered. Two loud mouth old men were a constant Greek Chorus, coaching, officiating, complaining. That 4 foul rule per period bit Zips badly as they had Ball game tied with 10 seconds left and cards went cheap foul every 2 seconds and Zips couldn't get a shot or FT
