It's great Groce in the final weeks of the season finally found his lineup, but this team has it's back against the wall going into Cleveland. When you have the top teams playing Miami or BG in the first round it's a real disadvantage facing Buffalo then followed by two more brutal games (as they should be). OTOH...OU came into it last year as the 5th seed and were well-rested after a COVID break.
2 tough road games and then Central at home. The Zips will be the 5th seed and will most likely play Buffalo or maybe
Garrettsville.

*looks like CMU can't make up all their games and Ball State and Buffalo will be one game short.
Beating BG by double digit at the JAR on a Tuesday night. Seems like old times.
Reading between the lines, Groce's interview after the game made it clear that they are "Post-Trimble." If I were laid up in bed, I would go back and count up all the empty possessions Trimble gave the Zips. It wasn't like he was running in to rebound the 3s he missed.
Groce wasn't happy with the defense nor were some of you.
agree, the fans, though, aren't as single-minded. Unfortunately, Americans are all about instant gratification. They want their wins NOW! On here, we can take a step back and realize that there is a bigger picture.
I liked Malcolm!
Good or bad for us, Groce plays or is forced to play the long game (getting tired of that phrase) each season. He's has to take some hits in order to have his best team on the floor in March.
he contributed nothing other than standing out there shooting 3s. He had ONE game where he got in there and did some nice 2 point jumpers. As someone else mentioned a while back, he disrupted everything else on the floor when he was shooting air ball after brick after clunker.
I saw a practice once a few years ago and Maishe Daily and Mykal Dawson were sinking 3s from all over the place. But during the game they routinely would/still miss wide open shots. This team could possibly grind their way to one win in the tournament but that's about it. It all comes back to the coaching staff: looks like now two starters (Walton and Trimble) were head cases and are now gone. They are literally arriving at the "my team is on the floor" moment.
Project management is a big thing these days.
I won't post it on here but Tracey Ullman does a hilarious skit in which she interviews to be a project manager. You can find it on youtube.
