  1. Missed 10 free throws. How is that possible on D1 level with a smaller basketball? They should me making at least 80%. They toyed with our affection...now back to the men's team.
  2. I'm an empty shell of a man who despises Kent, Ohio, Toledo, Miami, Buffalo, that back up guard for BG, the third asst for EMU, the WMU dance team, and, of course, Whitford.
  3. What I'm noticing here is a focus on the guys who do the tackling?
  4. It's back up to 20+ now.
  5. Miami went down by 30 in their last game with EMU and are looking to do the same against Garrettsville.
  6. yikes. I forgot about Irons.
  7. Is there a Quarterback in the mix? No Gibson. No Kato. Who is next up?
  8. This is all good to see and read while we watch the basketball season slip away.😐
  9. According to the Beacon, the "surging Flashes head to Miami" for back to back road wins.
  10. At .20, we learn that he knows how to flop.
  11. In reality, Groce I believe is highest paid Coach in the MAC. We should expect to be spoiled. He's here to win championships. Not be 4th or 5th
  12. EMU went off on Miami and scored 55 points in first half (12 more than entire game in Akron). Up by 33 in second half. Miami then got it down to 10 before time ran out.
  13. This empty shell of a man watched the second half of the women's game today and they defeated the collapsing Chippewas by 10. Dawson had 23 and Lane Farrell had 15. Zips out-rebounded the Chipps 48-30. 6-3 in the MAC and have two tough home games next week against Western and Toledo.
  14. I guess we should call it a day.
  15. guilty as charged. Zips kept it real.
  16. Coming back from 19 down is incredibly tough if not impossible. Some stats: Akron missed 10 FTs. Ouch. and Xavier was 1-3. He may need some mental rest. Toledo shot 59% from the floor and wins by only 8. That defense in those crucial minutes was amazing. Even if they got it a little closer, I think Toledo would have held them off. Get some rest. Beating Miami twice next weekend will be really sweet.
  17. Those missed FTs kept Zips above the spread.
  18. I thought this would go the route of the Ohio game. Late run but can't close the deal.
  19. they must show they the zipsnation feed in the huddle. toledo toughing it out. some poor shot choices.
  20. This season is a bust. The weakest link isn't Trimble missing 3s or a lack of effort. The weakness is that there is ZERO back up for Freeman, and he's a walk on. Groce had his lightning in the bottle in 2020 and with LCJ. Nothing against the players. They are flailing. How in the hell was the line -7.5?
  21. The team showed us who they are against EMU, WMU, and CMU. One close game with a crap team happens. 3 in two weeks?
  22. Please note that Ohio is trouncing Buffalo at Buffalo. Zips playing for the 3rd seed.
  23. Very similar to the Buffalo/Toledo game. Eventually, the better team will pull away. Not looking for anything more in 2nd half. Groce called that time out around 4 minutes. He obviously saw the momentum shifting fast. And it really sucks when you realize Zips are being out-coached and the other team is simply better.
  24. I won't be as pessimistic as 1981, but I am realistic. The MAC is separating into 4 groups: 1. Toledo and Ohio 2. Akron, Buffalo, and Kent. 3. Ball State, Bowling Green, and Miami. 4. The directional schools. Difference between groups 1 and 2 is consistency. The Zips are consistently inconsistent which can be its own pattern I guess. But Toledo's talent and also being at home, the Zips are no match unless Toledo goes cold and the Zips get hot. My prediction is Toledo gets out to a good lead and nurses it for the rest of the game. I think it will be like the Ohio game without Ohio's late game brain freeze.
  25. Certainly against Buffalo during their Top 20 year. Of course, in the last 5 games, Akron's been way off the spread (if that's the term for it)
