  1. If this comes down to final secs, Flashes have Santiago and Carry. Just not feeling this.
  2. Groce using a Charlie Coles strategy. Time outs, break the rhythm.
  3. Clutch 3s to give Kent separation. Look back as key moment
  4. Tribble and Freeman on bench most of half. So lucky to be in this.
  5. Zips haven't beat a top team in MAC other than a Buffalo team without a coach or Mballa. So this about right
  6. 23% from floor. Flashes packing it in. Making Zips take 3s. They watched the Florida games.
  7. Maybe that explains why they look tougher
  8. Not liking much of anything. Kent looks like a much tougher and smooth team. Totally out classing the Zips.
  9. Despite the monsoon, JAR is filling up. Lots of Garretsville inbreds.
  10. It's 5:57PM, and @LoyalZip is still worried.
  11. Speaking of: Kittens at CMU tonight.
  12. can you explain those #s for me?
  13. Zips swept them last year. And you know it's always hard to beat a team 3x in a season...so that could bode well for Cleveland, right? Take 1/2 a Tramadol tomorrow around 2pm. Looking at the MAC conference only stats, these two teams are quite even and are top 2 in DEFENSE (points allowed). Neither is high in the 3 point shooting stats. So Im thinking this will be a game in the 60s. side note: the winless Broncos have the highest scorer in the MAC.
  14. How many years can we keep this thread going?
  15. Will probably be best crowd of the season with some knuckle draggers driving in from Streetsboro. Rather a Catch 22, the more crowded it gets the less likely some folks will want to attend.
  16. I think the newly created student section will be overflowing. I'd say about 60-70%. I asked some people, who used to come to the bigger games, if they were interested in an of the tickets floating around on here, and there were no takers. I think it's covid and getting out of the basketball routine.
  17. once you are in the JAR, they don't enforce it.
  18. I like to peruse Kitten Spot after their losses and found this: Groce’s Bobcats beat Michigan, he leaves for Illinois. Because of that, LeVert goes to Michigan cause Groce had no open spots. LeVert & Beilein slay Groce. LeVert to NBA. Groce gets fired, goes to Akron. Beilein goes to Cleveland, gets fired. LeVert to Cleveland. But also, before Michigan Beilein was at WVU (because Dan Dakich is a certified idiot). After Beilein went to Michigan, Huggins came to WVU. Huggins got his start at Akron. Who came with Huggins to WVU from Kansas State? Former Ohio Head Coach Billy Hahn.
  19. That's really cool, Rowdy. For a long time...maybe 18 months...I told people the last time I was in a crowd was the 2020 Akron/Kent game. I don't think this game will have the same atmosphere as that one. There are still some COVID gun shy people which is understandable. I like the game this year because there isn't a conference championship on the line, etc. This is just pure hatred and pride. Mr. Pinky can't squeal after the game...that he didn't really care because his team already had their place locked up.
  20. Agree, these wins aren't luck or accident. They are winning in different ways and this is the second game I can remember in which they won with a massive FT advantage. But I look at the stats of 52%, 40%, and 82% and wonder how they only won by 6. Those guys have to be brimming with confidence but not over confidence.
  21. is not a State?
  22. That wasn't a criticism. But it's a grind, and they keep us on edge for most of the game. That's all I meant. I'm really fond of this team. They are finding different ways to win each of these games, but my anxiety would prefer a few blow outs thrown in. We will see if belief in winning will be enough in March.
  23. The Zips grind is tough to watch, so I tuned it to a few others: Ball State who just beat Toledo loses at home in OT to Central Michigan. Buffalo humiliates EMU PCCC doesn't really break a sweat against the hapless Falcons WMU simply can't close out a game and loses to Miami. If those two guards aren't seniors, I can't see them staying at K-Zoo. Oh....and Toledo easily handles the Kittens, drawing the Zips (for 2 days at least) within a game of first place. Ball State's loss to CMU and Toledo's loss to Ball State isn't going to play well if OU or Toledo are looking for an at large.
