I do think Groce would be GREAT! Should be our top choice. I'm not so sure that Cleveland State "passed" on Jent. Maybe he didn't apply or maybe he declined. Cant go by what these twitter feeds claim to know. This HighMajorScoop has McFadden for every opening. Buddy system... ... I'm not opposed to him, but c'mon man! Be right once! I'm not opposed to "outside" hire. I think we are all kind of wanting something new.

I would agree, except Gent just got there. And he is a LeBron guy. Paulus has been there awhile. Another reason why I say ax that name now.

I saw somewhere on Twitter (I know not reliable source) that Dayton was taking a look at him as well.

Hear Jayvon Graves, Logan Hill, Marreon Jackson, and Derrick Koch were all of Dials' recruits that were heading to Toledo. I knew Graves and Jackson before. That is one hell of a class. What are the state rankings on these players?

KD was the only one who coached. I saw Thomas at times talking to players. I have never been, but from I am told, KD was the only one that coached in practice. Thomas was the one who brought in players. McFadden may be titled the "recruiting coordinator" but putting down visits on a calendar and actually bringing in players is two different things.

He may have been your favorite player or buddy, but heady he was not! I have had to deal with him and he is further from a coach than just a pinch of seasoning.

In an NIT game that no one wanted to play... it was obvious. We tried that in round 2 and see where that got us!

No way. More goes into conference alignment/ranking/organization than just playing. It is truly and organization thing. You have to think about the travel and and $$$. The Zips never traveled well in the MAC let alone taking that trip to Richmond to Rhode Island to St. Bonny. And on our budget, we would look like Rick Vaughn and company driving a bus full of duct tape.

Not saying he would... I do not know their $$$ situation. Cant be all that great being new to the D1 level. Im not even saying I would leave NKU, but from a pure coaching standpoint, that would be a guy that should be looked at.

They must not understand how leagues/conferences work then! MAC, like Akron it seems, thinks football first. MAC basketball is in TROUBLE. It is sad because I think that the top 4 any given year can compete in some of the top conferences in the country. Bad situation for sure.

Would rather have Gent than Paulus off OSU staff. Bucks have gone down hill ever since he joined staff. Who cares he played at Duke. A coach is a coach... Not sure a move to Akron is better than Wyoming... basketball speaking for Shyatt. PLEASE tell me you are joking about McNees!?! He is probably the worst Director of Ops I have dealt with at Akron. 0 experience. And is the laughing stock of the section I sit in for home games. I appreciate the humor. Boals would be a good hire. Groce would be a good hire... someone mentioned that French wouldn't like it... that would be a BONUS! Brannon from NKU needs to be looked at too. High Major experience and took NKU to NCAA the 1st time they were even eligible to go.

Bring Geno Ford, John Groce, Jeff Boals, Rick McFadden and add Joyce III and Dials as assistants! End of story!

Im just saying he is DONE with being in consideration for other jobs if he doesn't take this. He has to take it, you would think. Thinking out loud here.... If he takes it, 7 years. If UAs next hire is a dud, and would give next guy at least 4 years, UA would GLADLY take him back! If he doesn't find success at DU, and UA does, then he gets to retire with 400K more per year (roughly). And it isn't like our roster is poised for another "run" either.

Im just saying that I can't see this as a play to elevate salary... and if it was, it would be dumb to pony up on UAs part. If he doesn't leave now, never will... why pay more for it? Not smart. I see the arena being a play, but not that big of a deal. 1M per year PLUS incentives... He gets less than 1M AFTER incentives. If he goes at all, he goes now. Aging and people aren't going to waste their time with KD in future considerations if he turns everything down. He is stuck now if he doesn't go. And Akron is dumb to fear otherwise... and pay for it.

I have for both HS and College games. It is the best basketball arena in the state. Best atmosphere. I can get over the cell phone service... mine worked fine by the way.... But I was talking about Duquesne.

Dumb move on Akron's part to pay more. If he doesn't take this 1) He is NEVER leaving 2) Already have money problems, why pay more for something that is already cemented in place? I like him and want him here, said it many of times. But it is dumb to pay more for someone that isn't leaving. Bad Business.
