  1. I have a hard time believing that Noah wouldn't be the 2nd fiddle for Groce. He probably saw there wasn't a fit and moved one while he could knowing there wouldn't be a penalty by sitting a year. Granted, it probably wasn't the only factor, but it had to play a role in the decision process.
  2. Probably when he found out he would be a grad transfer...
  3. Those guys were there last year...
  4. A name that should be mentioned and isn't is Brett Reed... A LM guy that has success and was the one that saw the talent in Canton that no one did...
  5. I work in an AAU program... NO they didn't. He was going to Wisconsin, Xavier, Michigan, or Illinois. Actually took a visit to Michigan on the way back from Wisconsin visit. Committed a day or 2 later.
  6. THESE recruits are LM talents. Ratings are political at the HS level. They mean hardly anything. Boals was suppose to be the Ohio guy. Not a secret. Every staff in Ohio needs to have an Ohio guy, or 2, to recruit the state. This state is lucrative with talent. I am saying NO ONE IN BOALS' KNOWN RECRUITING AREA wants to come to tOSU. When tOSU is not as desirable to Ohio recruits, that is a HUGE problem. And who was the center of that? Boals. And NO ONE can argue that these Ohio guys are kicking the Bucks' @$s. Embarrassing.
  7. So AJ Harris is a complete bust. Proved that when we played tOSU in NIT. Wasn't better than what we had. That was the best OH player THE Ohio State University could get out of Ohio? Wasn't Austin Grandstaff the one that got is HS gf pregnant and they took him because his dad is a AAU guy (tried to connect pipeline). Anyways, he is from TX. And by the way, is transferring OUT of Oklahoma without having suited up because HE ISNT GOOD ENOUGH! Giddens is from GA. NOT a Boals recruit. Mitchell to UCSB... P5 school? From TX. NOT a Boals recruit. Come on!
  8. Where did these guys go? Who are they?
  9. What do you not understand about recruiting areas? And what are they doing at those new programs?
  10. You should! THEY WERENT GOOD ENOUGH. They get a little guy out of Dayton and not even go after Simpson from Lima? Mr. Basketball! Don't even go after him. And hear the same thing with Kennard when he was in HS. Didn't even go after him. His recruiting territory! Nick Ward, Michigan State. Ibi Watson, Michigan. This list is long!
  11. So after 1 basketball season, and 1 recruiting season, that is what you are basing your info on? This will be the 2nd, maybe 1.5, summer since he was gone. The players that is there now are part of his recruiting classes.
  12. That was HIS TERRITORY. HE didn't bring in the out of state guys. And NOT ONLY did tOSU MISS on OHIO recruits, recruits are looking to go out of state without tOSU being in consideration. Stated by many people in my area and Akron is Zeke ONLY went to Akron due to desired degree offering over the other schools recruiting him. I am not "trying to criticize" anyone! I am simply pointing out what has happened and transpired over his time at tOSU. I'm not saying you only have to recruit Ohio kids, but if you are tOSU, you know it isn't good when the top talent in your state goes out of state and kicks your rear ...
  13. Clearly not up to date on OH recruiting... Sullinger wasn't going anywhere else... Craft only came after a mess up with Tennessee football program... and I wouldn't call him a world beater. Exciting? Yes. But Dayton had better PGs... didn't they run tOSU out of the tournament? Trey Burke or Aaron Craft? Please!
  14. I am not talking about transfers... HS RECRUITS... tOSU was POORLY RECRUITED and IS NO LONGER TOP PRIORITY for TOP OHIO TALENT. Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State and even Purdue has been more desirable than tOSU. Even Illinois and Northwestern have gotten better talent out of Ohio than tOSU while Boals was on staff. What did they get... Micah Potter?
  15. What good are "Rankings" if players don't pan out? Rankings are not a tell all to recruiting. NONE of their top recruits have been impressive. The rep of Ohio State has with OHIO RECRUITS is horrendous... proven by the amount of HIGH RANKED OHIO PLAYERS that leave the state with tOSU not being mentioned on their lists of top possibilities. And wasn't Boals tOSU's "Ohio Recruiter"?
  16. I AGREE!!!
  17. I don't think being in Ohio would have anything to do with collecting would it? What was the $$$ amount?
  18. Would MUCH RATHER bring in Geno Ford. Successful HC experience in the MAC. Struggled at Bradley, but who hasn't?
  19. Mississippi State twice...
  20. I believe that he is... and I believe this would be a good hire. Weber is not a coach. Met him a few times. Goldstein, I believe, was a walk on at tOSU. Is he from Ohio?
  21. I feel the same way... Others on here have voiced their concern about this. I see the positive about someone doing a good enough job to move up and onward!
  22. And there is the reason I asked if anyone knew about it since I am going off memory...
  23. I guess my point was misunderstood... Paris left Akron before, IF memory is correct. Would he be that interested? Is that not relevant? And to some on this board, a guy that would be eager to leave at first chance would put us back in the 'mid-major' mode of a coaching carousal. For the record, I am not one of those people.
