  1. Okay that's good. I was worried that you may have been banned for speaking facts about Arth by a itchy trigger finger. Though you can be very direct and a bit abrasive, nothing you have said is belligerent nor wrong. That's probably good. People have been banned for speaking "negative" while its the only obvious thing that can be said about Arth and the Zips right now. This is so true, though members have been banned for not saying anything positive about Arth.
  2. My goodness...this thread hasn't aged well!
  3. Interesting...what is inherently wrong with negative Arth comments? I found them entertaining hahaha. But I supposed Danny was a little much...
  4. What happened to @DannyHoke ? he seems to be MIA on this topic now...hahaha
  5. Hell Yeah! GO ZIPS!
  6. Remember when E. Michigan was the joke of the conference... : (
  7. Don't go holding your breath on hoping or expecting Arth to turn this thing around...
  8. That was also in the Dark ages of 1979. It's been 30-years. Contract law, especially in sports, has changed over that time.
  9. Contracts like this often have a termination clause where the if the institution fires you/relieves you of your duties they still pay you. You are by no means under ANY obligation to do anything for them if they decided to terminate you coaching the team. Just like if the Lakers decided to cut LeBron they'd still be required to pay him. Its why you don't sign players to major contracts without know they're going to be there long-term or not. If they wanted to cut Bowden they should have done what Kent did. Let his contract expire and then hire the next guy. It's not like you could do any worse...and Kent is improving just on year out from doing just that!
  10. He also didn't inherit a program in the dredges of utter despair. I figure it's been covered here at length so I won't go into it further. But I doubt going forward ANY Zips fans can hope for us to realistically have any "success" let alone a bowl game in the next 2-3 years...which will be 4-5 years total since we last had success. No matter what it is for the Zips we're going to have to be PATIENT. Unlike the Browns, who have incredible talent/potential but shitty coaching...the Zips have neither.
  11. Indeed! I hate Frank! But I hate Frank because I'm jealous of his success. I was really hoping Terry would become that for us; but Alas...onward with where and what we have.
  12. Yet they're a winning program, which was my point. I was challenging the contention that success is measured by another program wanting to swipe the person or not. I don't think that's a good measure of success; but that's just me.
  13. Ohio's Frank Solich hasn't attracted too many people looking to hire him, yet he's still had a level of success at Ohio that we would probably kill for here at Akron. I'm not sure I put much stock into someone wanting to hire our coach as a marker of success. Look at how many MAC coaches have success in this conference, then go to a higher conference and have almost none. To have sustained success in Football in the MAC it's almost like you have to be in it for awhile. Regrettably, we're back at square one at working towards that goal.
  14. Wish so bad he was our coach... : (
  15. I wish I had. I might have won this week.
  16. It is. It really is.
  17. I just don't even know where to look for something positive. Anyone?
  18. Though this seems to be a toxic subject...I should probably stay away...but I don't think it's fair to call people out for back-pedaling or talking about the past situation vs the new. The grass is always greener until it isn't. We all want something better, until we realize the "better" wasn't an improvement and possibly a step backwards. HOWEVER; those critics of Arth should probably take a step back and apply that same logic; "the grass is always greener until...". Realizing we probably made a mistake isn't bad, and talking about it. Though I'm personally hoping we can see something to pull us into next year instead of just doom-and-gloom all the time. Go Zips!
  19. It'd be so nice to see a win today! Go Zips!
  20. With all due respect...I don't think ANY Zips fan can ever be called a "Fair Weather Fan". If we're still here, and willing to post on a Zips-Fandom Forum...we're probably not fair weather fans brother! But we, as a collective, do probably need to band together a bit. The Zips fandom always seems a little divided...
  21. I went against my fandom: BGSU wins, but the Zips do score a couple of TDs. Here's to hoping the Zips prove me wrong!!
  22. That's unfortunate. I guess I was lucky enough to have been a part of them in the figurative hay-day with a National Championship.
  23. The Rowdies are always there; thick-and-thin!
  24. That makes sense...thanks guys! Sorry I quoted both of you...I'm still trying to figure out how this forum's mechanics work.
  25. What are some viable changes that we could realistically see take place between this low-point this year and the beginning of next season? We have 4-more games...what is something that we can watch/look for?
