    If you're relying on the portal to build a winner next year, there may not be many natural scorers like Coit out there who would consider Akron. I don't want criminals but I'd rather have a guy like Voit who may need to learn some humility vs a guy like Thornton who's going to be a team player that falls out of the rotation.

    I agree but will also add that talking smack is sometimes part of the game. Ali chirped quite a bit and he was a fantastic Zip.

    I'd much rather take a shot on a player like this than taking a veteran role player like Thornton. Lower floor but higher ceiling.

    BG loses it's top scorer. Their top 8 players in MPG last season are gone via graduation or the portal.

    They won 9 straight before losing to Illinois and had won 16 of their last 19. They had a good team this year that got hit hard by injuries that resulted in a brutal month where they went 1-6. I think your concerns about them staying at the top are warranted, but this wasn't a .500 team that got hot for a few games in March (Ex: Kent).
