Can confirm that Johnny is on the team and participating in summer workouts. Biggest issue is the roster simply not being updated and yes we are awful at doing that

Bubba did not get granted his 7th year of eligibility, I can confirm this. He completed spring ball as the NCAA was reviewing it during that time, it did not go through sadly

I think it is safe to say that we have asserted ourselves as the preseason team to beat in the MAC. This team has absolutely insane depth

Well I am once again sad to say I am the bearer of bad news, but it is believed that Clyde Price has torn his ACL. It has not been confirmed as he still needs more imaging but it is said to be around a 95% chance that he tore it. Was a contact injury, not much you can do there and definitely a big blow to the team. But with that being said if there was any room to have a season ending injury it would be the RBs.

Hopefully not the last time either, expecting his recruitment to really pick up over the summer and after this upcoming season. I expect him to start at running back as well as Lakes starter graduated

Charlie Christopher (2025) from Uniontown Lake HS is definitely a kid I would keep an eye on. 6'1 215 LB as a current sophomore, looks, plays, and lifts the part. Started and had 120+ tackles on a Lake team that made it to the regional final, son of Matt Christopher who was an absolute monster for Lake in the early 90's.

Would certainly enjoy bringing him to Akron, but he has heard from Butler (he is an Indy kid), Mizzou, Oregon State, and Iowa off the top of my head. There is a tweet out there but I couldn't find it for the couple minutes I looked. Definitely a long shot

They aren't actually different helmets, they wear same ones they always have. They have on what's called a guardian cap, its basically padding on the outside of the helmet and helps decrease blows and overall hits to the head. Can slip them right on and off, trying to decrease concussions out of actual games

Really enjoy this pick up, always a fan of a pass first guard that can get the offense going. Just glancing at his numbers throughout his career he got better in pretty much every category, averaging over 5 assists at the college level is impressive (Top 30 nationally) and even more so at NIU. Not THE guy but will be a damn good building block.
