Jen Simonetti is no longer on the goZips website and Maggie Kuhn is listed as interim head coach. It would appear she’s been dismissed.

He certainly emptied the board room quote bucket. He did mention increasing attendance and community engagement which could certainly help in several ways.

My two cents, quick read is that he has been instrumental in fund raising, marketing and sponsorships at ACC and Big South schools. Finding new, innovative ways to raise money and increase engagement on and off campus, would be very beneficial to Akron athletics.

Emil on the bench for St Louis City tonight against Sporting KC. https://x.com/stlcitysc/status/1908662428390277332?s=46

Going to take a little time to get their footing. 95% of the goals from 2024 have moved on. For example, Stefan’s PK against Creighton is the only Big East conference goal scored by a returning player.
-
That was amazing.
-
Yeah if you remove the blow outs against horrible Wright State and St Francis from 2024, there are only 2 goals and 3 assists returning. Zips don’t have Emil to bail them out with individual effort.
-
Appreciate the update.

I believe the breakdown is: 4 Transfers: Sullivan (St Louis U) Morck (St John’s) Arnesen (Old Dominion) Kossehasse (Iowa Western) 1 recruit : Jamai Royer 2 internationals: Jose Luis Pedro Another intl player whose name I don’t remember

Nothing groundbreaking here, but a 30 min conversation with Coach Embick about a wide range of topics to include the spring league

It’s not decided by fan vote. Winning the fan vote at this semi finalist stage is equivalent of one first place committee vote. Which is then narrowed to the final three. Those final three are then voted on by the committee to decide the winner. It’s cool you don’t care, just replying to clarify.

vs. Indiana - Away - NCAA Tournament
NYC ZIP replied to UAZipster0305's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
Looked like either a broken collarbone or separated shoulder. Had control of a through ball and IU attacker launched into him. At best careless play, but dirty play in my opinion. -

The blessing of lack of injuries through the season caught up with the Zips today. They were remarkably fortunate to have very little missed time from injuries. Those starters are beat to hell and just ran out of gas, not to mention losing Budler. Kaminski battled in a tough spot. -
