    We were a big time favorite to win the tournament last year. Remember Buffalo lost in the first round and BG was in a three game losing streak. Besides those two only Ball State & N Illinois were over .500 in conference play. I enjoyed seeing LCJ lifting up a trophy on the national stage.

    Currie & Marshall entered the portal after year end meetings with the coaches, so I’m sure the coaches expected it. Marshall’s last couple minutes against BG was all they gave us combined last year (and Marshall followed that up with zero points and 5 fouls against Buffalo). We never counted on Reece coming back. It’s a big opportunity to add better players

    He’s played basketball his whole like and has been at Akron for 2 years, I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see him becoming a good shooter.

    There was on 20 point scorer in the MAC this year, let’s not get carried away. Let’s hope he averages a double- double and keeps playing great D.

    Watching him play live you can see offensively he is very limited, has bad hands and doesn’t have natural instincts. The box score lies with him sometimes (rebounding his own missed layups). Defensively he has great instincts and will be our best defender since Marshall. Hopefully he can bulk up and be able to go toe to toe with the bigs Buffalo & OU have.

    OU played 2 games in about a month. It would be tough to play 3 in 3 and have legs. Rest is one thing, but you can only be in game shape by playing games.

    Refs with a questionable foul with 5.0 seconds left. Marreon Jackson drove the basket and was out of control and threw up a shot that missed but drew the foul call. Toledo wins by 2

    I’ll be happy with LCJ winning MAC Tournament MVP & Freeman making all tournament team. I think LCJ will play with a bigger chip on his shoulder now.

    Sorry update Eastern Michigan AD Scott Wetherbee told @Stadium that he intends to meet with coach Rob Murphy in the coming days, that he hasn’t made a final decision on Murphy’s future yet.
