I think Evans is taken out of context a little bit. He was asked if not having Abreu made any difference last Friday and was a factor in their victory. At the time, I didn't think he was trying to call Akron out. To me, I think he felt the question was trying to mitigate their win, which was big for them. I left that quote out of my article because I thought it was hard to include the context. He didn't say it that well, but many athletes are not articulate.

You're twisting words. What he (a journalist) actually said: "He didn't say it, but I kind of got the sense he would have preferred OU, but it wasn't really an option for either him or the team. And he did say he was happy how it worked out and that he ended up at Akron." "Kind of got the sense" is hardly a declaration.
