His numbers last year were not that impressive for a guy his size. Very little organized (or any) hoops experience, and he probably can not get off his feet at all. Which is not saying much, most guys over 300 LBS can not jump or do pullups. But, that is one giant sized honcho. Just think, Big Dog would look like Reggie standing next to Zeke.

I must agree. While limited to the TV angles, there were several plays where the was no call on Zips being literally knocked off their feet. And on one play, Tree got hit in the chops. No call. On another note, who do we contact at MAC Sports to get the on screen scoreboard fixed. It is way too big and the MAC log blocks out the basket on many plays. I think this was an issue last year too. In an era when I can call someone in Israel on their US cellphone number and be connected instantly, one would think they could do a score strip like on real TV that does not interfere with the view of the game. Or maybe the same company that did Obama Care did this web cast.

When I saw the title of the thread I thought it was about Harney. At times he was brilliant, then at other times he was out of control. Kwan went in expressly to burn the shirt. It was a message to someone. Maybe DIG? Pat played better than usual. Tree is Superman. Wish we had Q last year. Remember when we advertised in the newspapers for a quarterback? We may be doing that for a PG this year. KD better save a slot or two for a quality PG.

I was watching the end of the ladies BB game (BLOWOUT) and the audio had the standard Akron HUM. At the very end, it suddenly got loud and clear. Went out a little and came back. Really sounds like there is a plug that is not all the way plugged in or a shorted out wire. I sure would like it if someone could get that fixed.

Cheatham had 54 blocks last year, 2.7 per game. Yup, can not play defense. Oh well, keep him on the bench all year.

Actually, I have never seen much offense or defense from PF. Big Dog may work out very well for us, but he does not get off his feet and his blocks against a D3 team of midgets do not mean much. KD would not be so high on Big Dog if Pat was the replacement for Zeke. He appears to be the replacement for Mike Bardo. So yes, we are going to need that athletic go getter in there. Count on it.

Kwan has obviously become a fan favorite with his unique skill set of size, speed, ball handling, rebounding and outside shooting. And you want him to sit out the year? DUH

My take is that if he does redshirt him, it will be a big mistake because by the time the MAC season starts our weakness at center will be obvious and he will burn that shirt. So might was well have him available now.

This board needs a LIKE button. I LIKE the last two posts. Maybe the last three. Kwan MUST play. Pat so far has been Mike Bardo, who really contributed nothing but size until his senior year. Big Dog just does not look athletic. Maybe he needs a high level fitness program. Maybe he has not grown into his size yet, which happened with Zeke. Kwan has only played 20 minutes. And missed a few jump shots. But at least he shoots!! And he just looks damn athletic for a man his size. He looked like Q and Harney out there. Harness that and you have a star.

I admit that I am very biased - I want to win! We have two "bigs", both are slow. In the one game that I saw "big dog" he did not leave his feet and honestly did not look all that athletic to me. Cheatham is about the same height and looked to me like he has moves like a guard. Red shirt BD and let him get into better shape. A big who can not run the Court is not all that much use. A big who has moves and an outside shot is a big deal. It was only 20 minutes, but it appears to me that he can PLAY. With Tree and Harney in there with him, and Q, this is one heck of a BIG and ATHLETIC team. When you do the anagram of BIG and ATHLETIC you get WINNER.

I had just graduated but I traveled back to Akron to see a game - might have been the first game of the regionals? I know it was around March of '72 I remember Len Paul, Larry Quarles, Jinx Jenkins. Guys who could start for us today, no question. We were a D2 team that had a D1 player or three.
