From what I have seen so far, the "selling" is based on the quantity, not an actual sale. Remember last year when Tree got locked up in a bar fight and all you guys jumped all over me because I said it was nothing and it would go away. It was nothing and it went away. I don't know if this will go away. He is done for this season for sure. But plenty of people who are charged are never convicted. Let's have a little American Presumption of Innocence for now.

Everyone take a deep breath. I did 30 years in Law Enforcement and I have seen this before. They will need to be able to prove he knew what was in the package. Maybe they can. Maybe they can't. Anyone can send a package to anyone. Do not condemn him yet. At least let's see what the evidence shows.

NOW it really is BLACK FRIDAY
-
And let me be VERY clear: Being arrested is NOT the same as being convicted. Back in the day, if he was a Lone Star, this would have gone away....

I will take the optimist path. We now get to see what Melo is made of. Hopefully, he steps up. And I guess we have a scholarship to spare for next year.

Championship Celebration - 1986 and 2013

Everyone loses a game once in a while. Better to lose at Buffalo than at the Q. If it serves as a wakeup call good. We are very good. We are not invincible. No one is. -
We already won the MAC outright. We beat OU twice. Done deal.

He said me. I don't get it. I am always a big booster. I said Tree had an off night. OK 10 points would not be an off night for most players. But still...
-
Yes, but missing dunks!!!!! He should have had another 6 or 8 points tonight. Good time for him to have his off night. We will need him on Friday and next week.
-
Better than being behind 10. In general we are playing well, other than allowing those back door dunks. Our shots are just not dropping. Twice Tree had bunnies and could not get them to drop. Jake had a couple of threes rattle around. Walsh wide open 3 won't drop. If we start making our shots it would be a blowout.

The "slightly" unexpected treat is TREE! The future is bright.

So here is my DIG question of the day: If we win tonight, does the K E N T game Friday have any meaning? We know we will not get the at large. That is gone. Does a loss to K E N T have any real impact on our seeding, assuming we win at the Q? Or should KD rest the starters and let the bench warmers get some minutes and have some fun? I know it is about pride against the arch rival, but would that be worth risking injury to any of our starters?

To his credit, Zeke did not play like he was sick. Too bad the rest of the team could not rise to the occasion. But like I said, one loss in the last 20 games. People should stop complaining and show up for the last two home games. And yes, Zeke will be missed at the JAR.
-
PEOPLE.... ONE loss in TWENTY games. Get a grip on yourselves. We are having a great season.
-
He was on the floor and he missed shots along with everyone else.
-
They shot 56% It is hard to win when the other team shoots 56% Everyone loses sometimes. We always knew it would take two wins at the Q to go to the dance. Right now we need to win next week to lock up the MAC and the NIT.
-
We have them right where we want them.
-
We have seen this before. They will not keep dropping threes like they were lay ups. They will tire. We will pull away in the second half and put it away wit about 8 minutes to go.
-
I would make it to Temple, UConn and possibly Navy.
-
I am more afraid of WMU. They are the only other team in the MAC with a decent season.

Looks like an at large may have just opened up: In a stunning announcement that could doom St. John's chances of making the NCAA Tournament, star guard D'Angelo Harrison, the captain and leading scorer for the Red Storm, has been suspended for the rest of the season, including the Big East Conference Tournament and any postseason tournaments, the university announced Friday. Sources said Harrison, an emotional player who has challenged the coaching staff almost from the day he arrived on campus two years ago, seemed to making strides early in the season which is why coach Steve Lavin named him the captain. But he had not retained that inner growth and, as one source said, his conduct had become detrimental to the team. Two sources said that there wasn't any defining issue in the last few weeks. Rather a compilation of not being respectful to coaches, tardiness to team functions and his demonstrative personality on the court led to the stunning suspension. The suspension caught Harrison and his family by surprise. A source said he was very upset and devastated that he had let down his teammates. For all his displays of emotion on the court, Harrison has always supported his teammates and never shown them up. Harrison met with head coach Steve Lavin and has had multiple conversations with his family as to whether to remain at St. John's. His loving grandmother, Angela Harrison, who raised D'Angelo and his brother Deandre, said the suspension caught them off guard. Angela Harrison declined to go into details about the suspension but she made it clear her grandson had not violated any NCAA rules. Nor had he have any substance abuse issues. "This is not about any illegal drugs or alcohol,'' Angela Harrison told The Post. "D'Angelo is an emotional young man but he is never been involved in anything like that. We were caught off guard by this suspension.'' Angela Harrison said she would travel from Missouri City, Texas to support her son in New York within the next day or two. She said D'Angelo was not withdrawing from the university and no decision had been made about next season although there was a desire for him to return to the good graces of the staff. The loss of Harrison might be the pin that bursts the teams NCAA tournament bubble. He is the team's leading scorer at 18.3 points per game, third best in the Big East and tied for 42nd nationally. The Johnnies are 16-11 overall and 8-7 in the Big East going into Saturday night's game against red hot Providence. On a team that is woeful on 3-point shooting (109-for-369, 29.5 percent), Harrison (58-of-184, 31 percent) has made more treys the rest of the team combined.

I have to agree. Pat gets caught flat footed on defense because he can not play Zekes game - guard at the three point line and somehow get back and block a shot in the paint. Zeke is very long and exceptional, there are very few players who can do that. Next year the offensive schemes and defenses will be different, in respect to 6'11" Pat F in the middle, rather than Zeke. There year he was trying to be the substitute Zeke, and he can't do that. He has to be Pat F.

Yes, I can understand your disappointment. 19 wins in a row and National Rank #24 is pretty disappointing. Just think where we COULD be if only we were good.

Tree plays with attitude. Reminds me of Blake Griffin in his intensity.
