  1. Wonderful news. Just when we needed him the most. Someone has to step up.
  2. But that is the only one I could give him!
  3. I was only there for his last season, and we play s l o w d o w n because we only had one player who could score (Jerry Sloan). The following year was the start of the Wyatt Webb era, and we had some great years.
  4. IF we win Friday, OU beats Belmont, and we beat OU, I think we will come up #25. Ranked teams usually get to the dance. We would just have to keep it going and win out the regular season to remain ranked.
  5. Similar build. Harney is taller. Paul had a great outside jump shot, and could get inside as well. He had Trees legs. He often jumped center at 6'4". The one time I recall him losing a center jump was against (6'3") Randy Smith of Buffalo State. Of course, Smith went on to a long pro career and could probably out jump Zeke, he was just amazing.
  6. I didn't know that. Last time I was at a live college game was 1971. And there was no dunking. NONE. Not in the game or practice.
  7. In those days there were no three point field goals, and no dunking (it was a T-Foul to dunk in warmups!). And no shot clock. Imagine how many points he could have scored under today's rules!
  8. And what an era it was! Len Paul remains one of the best ball players I have ever seen.
  9. Compared to the Turner/Williams years, it WAS horrible.
  10. And in the 1967-68 season, when the stars were gone and not replaced and we were HORRIBLE, that was the strategy. Try to get a 2-0 final score!
  11. Actually, if the ONLY MAC games OU loses are to us, they have a chance at an at large, based on last years run.
  12. When we win on Friday, we will tie the longest win streak in the Country this year, and the following win will be #19, the longest of the year for anyone.
  13. Creighton and MTS have dropped out, which probably hurts our SOS a lot.
  14. Based on what I have observed (NOT in person): He seems to be somewhat less athletic than Zeke, and does not jump as high. He does not have as much wingspan. However, he is much more aggressive to the basket than Zeke was as a freshman. He is not blocking out effectively yet, but he is a big body, as compared to Zeke who was described as "long and thin". I think as a Junior (third year player) he will be a monster in the middle. He may get less blocks, but I think he will score way more points. I think down the line he will also be less prone to having the ball taken away under the hoop, as Zeke as never been a great ball handler. All of which is NOT a knock on Zeke in any way shape or form. Just my take on where Pat is now, as compared to where Zeke was as a first year player.
  15. So in other words, if Memphis keeps winning, at some point we will no longer have the longest winning streak, even though we have not lost. Just like when we win and our RPI goes down. Ever feel like the deck is stacked against you?
  16. Can we be unseated as the longest streak by only playing one game this week?
  17. I am glad you brought that up. BG's offense was totally ineffective in the first half, and they played a slow pace. Giving up that three was criminal. THAT is how we can lose games. Mental errors.
  18. UGLIEST 17 point win I ever saw. I'LL TAKE IT!!!!!!
  19. I don't know about Chauncey but NO Deji.
  20. What a strange team. We look just awful on offense, but lucky for us so does BG. Then we wake up and just totally dominate and take over the game.
  21. I have been watching the Lady Zips game against BSU. There are a couple of them I would not mind seeing on the men's team.
  22. @DIG You are correct. That can not be seen on TV or webcast.
  23. That is mainly because Zeke was often (always) in foul trouble, not because of conditioning.
  24. Keep the A Team in when we are up 13-3 and put the game away.
  25. I don't think of it as a leap back, but rather one more piece of the puzzle that comes together with a trip to the dance. One step at a time, and in the end it all comes together. If OU would just accommodate us and lose a game we would soon be in a position to lock up the NIT bid. One step at a time, that one gets decided before the dance cards go out.
