Everyone seems accepting of their role and someone always seems to step up if someone has a bad game. I also like that this team comes to play everyday. They remind a little of the Can't team that went to the final 8 in terms of not giving a game to anyone. And I like that we keep winning. This winning thing is starting to become addictive.

Good luck to him. I think that he was our recruiter in MD/VA who pulled some kids out? I know it is inevitable to lose people, but some continuity would be nice.

Great job in Toledo. I thought Toledo would be tough like OU in terms of intimidating to play at. It seemed more sterile like Millet Hall.

Bubba is an emotional guy. I see him either going off with a big game or melting down. How Cedric and Nick guard him will be the most crucial factor in how he plays.The key to beating Ohio is stopping the inside game. Us and Ohio have the best post game in the league. The bigs will decide this one.

About 1,000 Tickets Remain For Akron Game Showdown between leaders of MAC's West and East Divisions at Savage Hall on Saturday Feb. 8, 2007Toledo, OH - Approximately 1,000 tickets remain for sale to the general public for Saturday's men's basketball game between Toledo and Akron, according to UT Athletic Ticket Manager Roseann Croop. Tip-off is 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Ticket Office at Savage Hall or by phone at (419) 530-GOLD. The ticket office will be opened until 6:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday to accommodate ticket buyers. Toledo (12-10, 8-2 MAC) has won 13 consecutive home games dating back to January of last season. The Rockets are 42-4 at home since the 2003-04 season, and have a three-game lead over Western Michigan (5-5) in the MAC's West Division. Akron (18-4, 9-1 MAC) was the preseason pick to win the MAC East Division, as well as the pick to win the MAC Tournament in Cleveland. The Zips have won 18 straight regular-season games against MAC West Division foes. Their last loss in any game against a West Division opponent was a 77-69 defeat at the hands of Toledo in the semifinals of the 2006 MAC Tournament. They held the Big East championships here last year as well. I think the host school had a conflict and they decided to try Akron, great facilities, centrally located. Obviously they liked what they saw last year.

If there is one guy that I would expect to blow a gasket, it would be Bubba. It should be interesting next week. Especially if we play D like we have been, I could see frustration setting in.

I will be going to Toledo. I called the ticket office and they said they only had complimentary tickets, I had to get mine from the UT office. I ordered them today.

My thoughts on the game1. Very rarely we have not brought our D, UALR and UIC. Another good defensive effort.2. Linhart went into an offensive funk last year around the mid of Jan and never quite got out of it. The last few games he has looked horrible offensively. What is the deal?3. Dials reverted back to some bad habits yesterday, launching a 25 footer with 30 seconds left on the shot clock a couple of times. Nick is money on those 15-18 footers coming off the curl or faking and taking a step in. He is not a pure 3 point guy.4. Going back to Nate and Dials, even though offensively they may struggle, they continually play good D and do other things to win. Definitely key guys to have out there.5. Nice touch from Wood on the lob. He and the Zips also went right after Rollins. We continually exploit mismatches. 6. Joyce is playing at the top of his game. Just do it for 6 more weeks.7. 1st time all year another teams press gave us fits. 8. The 3 guard offense struggled today as well. When we went bigger we started evening it out on the boards. McKnight got some key rebounds in the 1st half. Jimmy played some tough D. With Linhart struggling yesterday, I was surprised with the matchups that Jimmy did not play more.9. I think the Zips won the floor burn battle about 10 -2.

It may come down to us and Can't again for the MAC East title. The best bball rivalry in the league year after year.One question on Bubba, how come he did not have to sit out the 1st half of the season? Since he transferred in Dec last year, how come he played before January?

Looking at geography, maybe Evansville as another possibility? I would love to get Bradley to help the RPI but we probably won't get that lucky.

I bought a lower level season ticket this year, great seats. The seat immediately to my left has been used exactly 1 time, the 1st half of the Can't game. Then the guy left. How about a ticket exchange, if you are not going, donate your tickets back to the university for someone else to watch?

Good posts, some more thoughts1. We continually shut down or at least are not killed by the other teams best player.2. Our team D is the best in the league or at least is even with Miami.3. The team that KD has developed is so flexible that we match up well with just about anyone in the league. Different guys may contribute but someone is always ready.4. I hold my breath whenever J Wood goes down. And Rowdies, how about a hey, Wood, baby! to show #21 some love.5. Keep talking about the streak at home. Other teams should feel they have no chance coming into the JAR.6. It is amazing how you are watching the game and it seems pretty even, you look up at the scoreboard and we are always up by 8-10 points more than you thought.7. Still comes down the the tourney. Someone could be sick, someone has a bad shooting day, we know there are no guarantees. But I don't see a better team than us. We are good and we know that we are good. Just keep burying everyone. I want them to know they have no chance in Cleveland. How much better can we play?

1. Great job locking Dennis Mitchell up for another 3 years. I look at Mitchell, KD, and JD as the top 3 coaches we have. Not that others won't step up but everyone is pretty new or have been here a long time and have programs stuck in mediocrity.2. Great time at the event last night. Very well run and exciting.3. Thanks for the clarification. I also notice KD getting really smart kids - both Swiech and Steward had stellar GPAs. McKnight may too, I just have not seen anything one way or the other. This kid has a 3.8.

Ronnie Steward is being hyped as a bigtime point guard. I hope that he comes in next year and can give 20 -25 decent minutes a night. It is his job for the taking.

If we switch over to Nike from Adidas, I would not be surprised to see Lebron spotted in some Zips gear. That would do wonders for merchandise sales.

After the season ended, JD did a wrap up on Zips Live. When asked about the OL, he sounded most excited about Mike Ward. The guys he mentioned were Kemme, Schepas, Ward, and Huebener. He said that Anderson and Bates need to get to the next level. Woods gained about 40 lbs and was the most athletic lineman - my hope is that he is a sleeper. We did get 1 JUCO kid as well. It will be tough for any new FR to step in.How about the DL? We need 6 guys to rotate. Robinson, Lively, and Cechetti are going to be in the rotation. None of them get me too excited. Does Williams move back to a down lineman? I thought that he finally started getting comfortable at LB the last couple of weeks. Regardless of who we move to DL from the exisiting roster, they will be undersized.How is Alex Allen's rehab going?
