I like it how when someone transfers to Akron, all is great no matter what they say. When someone transfers from Akron, they are criticized for what they say or don't say.A little bit of a double standard, don't you think?

Army is ranked as the worst DI team in the nation. If we don't beat them or struggle to beat them, it doesn't look good for us.

I may be wrong on this, but wasn't Barry Sanders about 5'9"?It is more about his weight than his height. If he was 5'8" 195, I don't think we would be having this conversation.Sure he can get bigger. College coaches know that too. Obviously they just don't think he has the talent to be big time. -
Zipscrazy, you are correct that he was an elite 11 QB.However, it wasn't because of his passing. It was because of his legs.He was classified as a "dual threat" QB.His high school completion was well below 50%.I am in no way saying that CJ will be as good as TS. I was only mentioning that at this point, entering his sophomore year, he too hadn't developed the passing part of his game. He trusted his legs much more.

Yeah, I agree Grad01. It's quite comical. He is probably 35 and living in his parents basement. He says he isn't jealous. However, the only reason to hate anyone or anything other than if it, or they has done something personal to you is jealousy.Example-I hate Brad Pitt. Why you ask, Because I am extremely jealous of him.

That's the answer I expected.LOL

Zipswin, You are a real piece of trash. I never, ever personally attack anyone on a message board. However, you are a jealous piece of crap.Answer me this jerk.Did you go to UA? I am sure no honest answer will come from this. How much money have you donated to the UofA over your lifetime? I have given over $25000 since I graduated. How many games have you been to at UA? I have been to over 150 home games, and at least 30 road games. You give Akron fans a bad name. You should be banned from this site.If it weren't for the posters you just named, this site wouldn't have many posters at all.Yes, there are plenty of OSU sites. And when I want to talk OSU I go there. When I want to talk Akron, I come here. The only time I talk about OSU on the Akron board or Akron on the OSU site is when some jackass like you starts a bunch of BS.You sir, need to go away

Grad01, you can't win this. They will constantly whine and moan and then report you because you defend OSU. Most of these guys just don't' understand. They feel UA should just be handed over everything because they want it.If anyone on an OSU site was dogging UA like so many UA fans dog OSU, I would be defending UA too.If UA didn't want the money they shouldn't have accepted the offer. Nobody held a gun to Thomas' head. There are so few UA fans to begin with, I don't understand what the point is of making some of us feel unwanted.

Yes, he should have.

BRAVOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Some people just don't get it.They want to play larger, higher ranked and elite programs and then accuse those programs of buying victories. Obviously when you have no clue, you don't see the hippocracy in that. Thanks for calling me a loser pal.

My opinion, based on a grand total of one scrimmage watched:Jacquemain and Jackson are both better-than-average passers. Jackson is more elusive. However, he defaults to running too soon. Jacquemain gives his receivers a chance to finish their routes.I think that slight edge in overall pocket poise outweighs the couple plays where Jackson's footwork might come into play.If the offense sputters under Jacquemain and needs a spark, that's when Jackson will probably get a chance. BTW -- I hate the term "He can manage the game." Give me a guy that can put the ball in the endzone and move the chains. CJ is a Soph. that is all part of the learning process. Again, like I said on another thread. Don't shoot me for talking about another school. CJ reminds me a lot of Troy Smith.Troy was a pretty bad passer that liked to take off before going through his reads and progressions. After he got some experience, he became the Heisman winner.I see the same thing in CJ. He just needs playing time.

There is more to playing football than just speed. -
Coaching 101-If things are working, you don't change them.
-
That has to be wrong. We are making almost as much going to UCon, as OSU.

I don't get it. Are you guys saying that you feel the WR we have now are better than Schifino and Cherry? I certainly don't. Potentially yes, but not yet. Also, I think Dean is better than any of our 0-line except Kemme. I agree about the db's and LB's, and QB. Other than that, I am not so sure this team is better. If I could choose between this team and that team, I would choose that team. What is sad to me it that I thought we have come a lot further than we really have.I am saying this as the team is right now. Not what some of the talent may become, but as of right now.

We only have 3 scholarship QB's. I can't see JD leaving us with 2.This would be very risky. We have plenty of WR. we just don't know what we have talent wise. Just because CJ is a good athlete doesn't mean he would be any better than the other WR's we have.Besides, with our o-line history, I am sure he will get plenty of snaps too.

That's funny in a morbid kind of way. -

Lazy college students. When I was that age I walked 12 miles, uphill both ways, without shoes on a broken glass road. At the end of the road was a lemon juice and salt filled lake that I had to cross.Oh yeah, it was -49 degrees outside and I was naked. -
That was a strange offense. It was almost a copy of the run and shoot.I remember the back would go into motion right before the snap. The QB would hand to the back or pass it underneath. It was strange to watch it setup.

Desired future opponents at InfoCision Stadium?
Buckzip replied to joshgozips's topic in Akron Zips Football
Also, here at UA we are so used to not being real successful. Therefore what we may deem a success, others don not. If we went 8-4 this year we would call that a great year. At some of hte big schools, if the team goes 8-4, the coach may be fired or at leat be on the hot seat. What we look at as being a winner, others may look at as being mediocre. We lost to Can't last yeat for heavens sakes...We beat NCSU which was a step in the right direction. But then we bomb after that.We need to beat upper echelon teams on a consistent basis to be given the respect that we want. We haven't done any of that yet. Hopefully we will start by winning some big games this year. -

I believe that. InfoCision Stadium could be designed to hold 100,000 and they would never play in it because their noses are too high in the air for that. I wouldn't want them here anyway because there would be too many front running Ohio MAC school grads rooting for them over the Zips. We all know those folks. They are no better than Steeler and Yankee fans who live in northeast Ohio and have been here their entire lives. Please explain the type. Do you think that every person in NE Ohio should have only gone to UA? Do you feel that everyone only should go to school where they live, no matter their major?Do you feel that noone is allowed to go to both schools?Do you feel that everyone should feel the same as you?So, I guess if someone grew up in Pittspuke, but moved to Cleveland later in life, they should now be a Browns fan.Because we are Zips fans, doesn't mean that everyone whom lives in the Akron area has to be Zips fans. Talk about noses in the air..........Not everybody is fans of the local teams or of the winning team.Growing up, one of my friends was a big Bengals fan. They sucked. we lived in Akron.Another friend was a Redskins fan. They were nothing special. Some people start following teams when they are very young. They may do it for a reason such as they see tham on TV all the time, or they just like their uniform. By the time they get older, they have already pledged allegiance to that team. Many Akron people grew up when Akron was a DII program. They saw other schools on TV weeky, because those other schools were big draws. They couldn't afford to go to local games or their parents wouldn't take them. They ended up latching onto the team they saw on TV every week. Just because UA become a DIAA and then a DI didn't mean these people could turn off their love of their other teams.I was lucky enough that when I was a kid my parents always took me to the Acme-Zip game. That was a blast, and I fell in love with the Zips. At the time, UA was DII. It was like they were the JV and the school in Columbus was the varsity. That was no different than being a high school fan a Browns fan and an Akron fan. They were 3 different levels. It was ok to like all 3. Then when UA became DI, I couldn't just say no more love for my other team. I went to both schools and I will root for both schools. Even though some of you just don't "get it".I bet Michigan, Florida, Texas, USC, LSU, Auburn, etc. won't play in Akron either. I don't see you calling them names. Why in the hell can't we have a topic on here talking about other teams where some of you don't have to start an attack and then get upset when it is responded to? -
I agree with Jackson. He is only a Sophomore and will make sophomore mistakes. However, the next 2 years after this should be something special for him. Please don't shoot me for saying this. But I see a little Troy Smith in CJ.TS wasn't a full time starter until his junior year. When he was a Sophomore, he liked his feet more than his arm. He was always tucking and running. However, once he got some experience and confidence he won the Heisman. He wasn't a very accurate passer at first, but then came on strong. I think a lot of people tend to forget that CJ is only a sophomore. I think he will be a star if given the opportunity and patience.

I agree with Pittsburgh. I would like to see Syracuse, Cincy, Indiani, Illiinois, Minnesota, Bosten College, Rutgers and other upper level mid-majors like that. -
Thanks Zkip. I have been updating the list as more names are mentioned.I agree about the 3-4, but I have 4 LB's anyways.I picked Johnson too. Weems was the backup. Wasn't Sweitzer the guy that was a pretty good kick returner before he became the QB?
