That's just the problem, though. I am positive that when I attend classes this week that the OSU apparrel will outnumber the Akron apparrel at least 3-1. It will only get worse as the week goes on.To all the students that read this board: If someone yells "AK", you had better reply with a "ROWDY". Drown out any OH-IO crap people might start. Offer to trade a Zips shirt to anyone wearing OSU crap. I'm personally going to carry 2 extra Zips shirts with my books for just such an occassion. Are you saying that students at UA are wearing OSU stuff?If so, that is beyond belief.

He needs to be on the field more. With our lack of gamebreaking speed at WR he brings that into the offense.

There are about 5 really active OSU sites.The best, IMHO, is http://ohiostate.scout.com/I used to like Buckeye Planet, but it has become very much like a clique.They have some really good posters, but they also go overboard on a lot of things.If you go to the scout site, you will be very welcome. As long as you don't come to flame, they will be very respectful and polite.They aren't over there attacking Akron at all.Believe me, if they would I would be fighting back.Like I always say, it works both ways.

But I must say "some" of the fans of the big programs don't get it.I was at another teams site. I won't say which one.(lol)Someone posted a thread that he was walking in the parking deck going to the Toledo vs Purdue game. He was wearing his "other" schools colors. Another fan yelled at him that he should wear the team he was going to see colors. He reacted by assuming that the guy yelling at him was someone from the other teams bitter rival. Well, everyone that responded to that post agreed with him. Needless to say, I posted that the guy was more than likely a Toledo fan and that he felt very disrespected. I let them know that the feeling that they felt was part of the arrogance of why other schools fans detest that school and their fans.These guys really don't get it. He said that a lot of other fans were wearing the same "other" school colors, but that one guy is the only one that cared. Again, I explained that that guy was the only one with the nads to say something.I know that was pretty hard to follow and I will probably get the usual attacks that ensue whenever I post about anything non UA.However, that thread really pissed me off.Being a graduate of 2 different schools, allows me to see things both ways.As much as "some" on this board tick me off when they have no idea what they are talking about, it works the other way too.

I think those of us that are anti-OSU grow weary of the nothing but OSU coverage when it comes to college football in northern Ohio. It would make sense if this was Columbus, but its not. My mother lived in Cincinnati for 23 years and although they covered OSU it was not like they do here where they cover OSU more in the Leaky Urinal then they do UA. (Today's paper was a nice balance though.). The Cleveland TV stations always lead off with OSU coverage over the local teams. In Cincy it was always the local teams first.We also hate that the BCS schools have worked hard to make it an unbalanced playing field. The NCAA really needs a playoff for football, but that would dilute the money the BCS teams receive. It would also level the playing field somewhat, although it would take years to do so.Sure the MAC isn't up to the level of the Big Ten, why would it be? The athletic budget of every Big Ten team is probably greater then most of the teams in the MAC combined.I don't have a problem with someone being an OSU fan and a UA fan. I don't like it, but to each his own. I was a big OSU fan until I attended UA. Now I don't like pulling for OSU because when they win it means even less coverage for UA or any other college in Ohio. College basketball was great while OSU was down, you actually had more balanced coverage. That was also due to Ohio having several good college basketball teams. Its much harder to be successful in college football as it takes a lot more money to make a difference and many more good players to make a good team.That's why its extra sweet when the Big Ten or any other BCS conference gets upset by a non-BCS team. I don't think there was a line...for the same reason there wasn't one for OSU/YSU.I guess you can bet on everything in Vegas except for D I-AA football. I never knew that DIAA games weren't involved.

So, what was the spread for Appy State and UM?

We are deeper except at WR. Our WR corps, other than Jabari, is, well I can't think of the right term.....Let's just say that no team is going to worry about us beating them deep.

If BG can beat Minnesota, we can beat Indiana. Adn if we are going where we all want to go, we have to beat Indiana and UCon.

Great hit. I watched it 5 times on youtube and said "ouch" each time. We certainly need more speed on the field. Kennedy is not a speed back, and we have no speed at WR. This will hurt us badly against quality teams.I remember drooling about having David Harvey, Vince Hill and Gary Pride on the field at the same time.

Agreed. The stadium is close to a miracle. "If" we can win along with having the new stadium, people will show up. The Indians didn't draw anything until the new stadium and winning came. Akron can do the same.

We should win tomorrow and have a good shot of beating Indiana.If we want to turn this program around we have to beat teams like Army and lower BCS teams like Indiana. Then we should be Can't.We could and should be 3-1 after our first 4 games.Anything less than that and I will consider it a dissapointment.

Guys, I am a big of a sports fan as there is, and I never go to Ohio.com.I am sure quite a few can say the same thing.

A few years ago, after I would return from a week's vacation, there might be 7-8 new posts on our board. We get that, and more, every hour now-a-days. Our board activity is excellent for a non-BCS school. And it continues to improve with every passing month.We will upgrade things soon, and that will also help grow the ZipsNation. As the fan base continues to grow, so will we. Don't take that as an insult to the board. That was not meant.This board is great and I appreciate you doing this. I jus tfeel it is depressing that we have so few fans...
