Basic supply and demand.If you have 100 people wanting Browns, Indians, Cavs, and OSU information, and you have 5 people wanting UA information, guess where most of your efforts will go?With the lack of support that this program has, I am surprised that the BJ gives us as much attention as they do.As Mr. Spock says, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.Whether you want to believe it or not, UA is not really cared about in the community.It is up to the team to change that.Like I said before, look at this board. It is game week and very few is here.Go to one of those other teams internet sites. They get more action in 1 single day than this board gets in a month.Please don't tell me that people don't know this board exists. We all found it, didn't we?If people are interested, they will find it.Blaming the BJ is simply blaming a sympton. The problem is that this team has never done anything to get the community excited. I hate the BJ as much as anyone else. However, when UA won the MACC and was in the Bowl game, the BJ did cover it fairly well.Look at the Indians. The old stadium got 10,000 people to games. Then came the new stadium and winning and there were sellouts. Well, the stadium is no longer new, but the team is looking pretty good right now. No, they aren't selling out, but they are still getting good crowds.Those of us on here are not the problem. There is no reason for us to disagree. We are all on the same team.The people I hold responsible for this are the students. We have over 20,000 students, yet ost of them have never even attended a game. They should be ashamed of themselves. Goint to a college football game is part of the ultimate college experience.I am sure the new stadium will help. However, that's just another excuse. If students wanted to attend the games, they would find a way.

Come on now. I agree about DLM.It is his job to cover UA. He is the reporter. It shouldn't matter if he is a graduate of any other school. He has a job to do. He should either do it to the best of his ability, or he should be gone.

Great pickup. He already has some experience and now can basically redshirt to get better. He will only be a sophomore next season. The PG position is looking good for the forseeable future.

We better not lose to them 2 years in a row.

Actually, I think some people on here think the MAC is on par with quite a few higher conferences.

You are absolutely correct.Most people know that sports entertainment has different values for different people. You are either a diehard, like a Browns fan, or major college fan, or you are just a generic fan that will watch whomever is playing just to see some football.We have very few diehards. Therefore, we have a lot of people that may just want to see some football. If they want to see it live, they can go to a high school game and see some great games in NE Ohio. They are usually closer and always cheaper. Plus they see neighbors and friends at the games. I believe these people connect watching UA football to watching high school football. IMHOI remember back in the 70's and 80's my parents would take us to the Acme-Zip game. The RB was usually sold out. What happened to that? It was an awesome experience.I would look forward ot that game every year. I remember there was a slight chill in the air, and I was excited to go.Gee, if it's not Acme, why can't we find another local company to align with that will somehow fill our stadium? What happened to all of those people.? We were DII and DIAA at the time too.

Just because it may be a running dominated game, doesn't mean it is boring.I like a 60 yard TD run as much as a 60 yard TD pass. Also, I think they count for the same number of points too. Well, that is as long as my team is the one scoring.

You are right, we would lose the coach. That's ok though. Once you start winning, along with having the better facilities and new stadium we would be able to get a better group of candidates applying. Eventually we could pay the coach enough to stay. At least unless it is is one of the real high profile jobs.

Those are all legit excuses. And that is what they are is excuses.We all want this program to become big time. However, until we get people in the community excited and going to games it will never happen.There is so little support for this team that it depresses me. Look at this board if you want to see how little support there is. This is the only UA board. However, there are only a handful of us that post regularly. The rest just stop by once in a while. It's f'ing game week, and this place is a ghost town. Sure the Tribe didn't sell out, but they still got a pretty decent crowd.There is now ay I would expect UA to sell out Brown stadium, but there is no excuse not to have at least 25,000. It is the first game of the season. People are hungry for football. I was watching high school games on TV with teams I don't even know just to try to satisfy my football fix.The new stadium will help. However, the novelty will wear off after a few years. If the team doesn't start to win we will be right back to where we are now. When I say win, I don't mean 7-5 or even 8-4. I mean 10-2 or 9-3 on a down year.Yeah, that is expecting a lot. However, that is what winning programs do. We consider 7-5 a good year. At big time schools, coaches get fired for that.

I disagree on Marshall not dominating the MAC. Most recently, Marshall was in the MAC from 1997 (When they came up from 1-AA) until 2003. During that 7 year span, they went 48-8 (.857) in the MAC, and 73-13 overall. They also won the MACC in 97, 98, 99, 00, 02 and were runners up in 01.It would be very tough for anyone in the MAC to match that run. And those numbers only got them into CUSA... I agree. I don't know if I would use the word "dominate", but they certainly were the class of the MAC for most of the time they were here.

Didn't Brandon Anderson play CB? It is surprising they switched him to safety.He looked good at CB his freshman year.

Sorry, but I disagree. I think it is every teams fault in the MAC that they get no respect.Akron is one of the reasons that the MAC gets no respect. Last year when UA beat NCSU, it made the sports shows. Of course then we followed that up with garbage. Imagine if we would have kept winning.If 1 team started knocking off the majors and finished in the top1 0 regularly that would bring a little respect to the entire conference.I don't feel you have to be elite top to bottom for the conference to be respected. Look at the B10. For the longest time they were knwon as the Big 2 and Little 8.The conference was respected.
