  1. Well with everybody giving GP crap for patting himself on the back, I thought I'd take some of the heat off and pat myself on that back . I was right about the 3 way tie I predicted back in May, though I said 6-2 for all the teams, who would've imagined 3 teams at 5-3!! Also, my 8-3 prediction should've been right if the Zips hadn't pissed down their leg against Army and Ball St. I told you guys back after Spring we'd compete for the MACC, and here we are!!! Keep the faith always boys, GO ZIPS!!!!
  2. I would nominate KingZip. GP-1 makes some quality posts and I don't think I've seen him ever really be an a-hole (except when he went apeshit the time I suggested Winters was a better OC than what we have now )
  3. In your dreams buddy. NIU takes care of business today, and the Zips go to Detroit while Toledo, Bowling Green, and Miami all sit home. MAN THAT FEELS GOOD TO SAY!!!
  4. The ZipsNation should buy the Toledo O-Line a steak dinner. The whooped Bowling Green's front seven's ass all night long. I hope Tim Crouch, Mike Donaldson, Andy Wills, Mike Schepp, Andy Alleman, and Chris Kemme were all taking notes. Thats how the position is played right thur.
  5. 14-3 in the 2nd. CMU came back from the dead against us, let's hope they do it again. Otherwise we'd better start praying for OU.
  6. Guys, after the loss to Ball St, I came on here SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF MY KEYBOARD not to give up on the season yet because odds were still good to make the MAC Championship. Nobody responded to me, as my post was lost in all the "lost season" posts. To put all of this in perspective, you're right CK, OHIO DOES NOT HAVE TO BEAT MIAMI FOR THE ZIPS TO MAKE THE MAC CHAMPIONSHIP!!! I don't know the details of how this works out, but, I know for a fact from a very reliable source on the team that JD called the league office Monday to get the scenario that would have to happen for the Zips to make the MACC, and apparently with BG beating Miami and BG losing to Toledo and all 3 teams ending up in a 3 way tie, in that scenario for whatever reason Akron has the tiebreaker!! It has something to do with us beating NIU, though I have no idea how to explain it. All that matter is that if Toledo beats BG, WE ARE GOING TO DETROIT!!! We should all be huge Rocket fans this week. Man, I can't believe we may very well make the MAC championship on a 5-3 record. Anyone remember the preseason predictions thread when I predicted a 3-way tie at the top of the East?? Man, I feel like a genius now .
  7. I've heard from a lot in the community who don't normally come to Akron games that they're coming for the Thanksgiving Day game. I think people will be there just to have something fun and new to do on Thanksgiving Day. I'm going to make a bold prediction and say 20,000 at least for this game. There's more excitement in the community for a nationally televised Thanksgiving even in Akron then you guys are portraying here.
  8. He can get a year back and return but the word is he doesn't want to.
  9. Not so. If BG beats Miami, and then loses to Toledo, it's a 3 way tie to end the season at the top of the East. Head to head matchups with Akron, BG, and Miami just goes in a big circle, so I'm not sure how the tie would be broken. If Miami loses to BG AND Ohio, and BG loses to Toledo, Akron wins the East and goes to the Championship game. There's still hope. They aren't eliminated yet.
  10. Nvm, that game's over and done. But BG can still beat Miami and lose to Toledo, which would put us all at 3 losses again and a potential Miami loss to Ohio as well puts them at 4 losses, making ourselves and BG tied and putting us in the conference championship. Keep the faith. The season isn't over with yet.
  11. We need Can't to come back and upset Bowling Green. If they do that, that puts them at 3 losses, they get Omar back and go in and beat Miami next week, and we're right back in the same spot we were at the beginning of the day. Don't lose faith just yet.
  12. I'm hoping for an at large berth to somewhere like Nashville or San Diego. Mobile is kinda small and still recovering from the hurricane and Detroit is cold and just no fun. It would pretty much have to be a situation like last year though where there aren't enough bowl eligible teams to fill all the slots.
  13. How about this..... We lose to Ohio Ohio loses to Miami Miami loses to BG and BG loses to Toledo All four teams end the season at 5-3 in the conference, Ohio has the tiebreaker on Miami, who has the tiebreaker on Akron, who has the tiebreaker on Bowling Green, who has the tiebreaker on Miami. Who goes to the Championship??
  14. I don't even think any of those teams will be in the Championship game. It'll be a rematch between CMU and Akron. Miami has a boarderline cakewalk finish, with Buffalo, BG and OU. We need them to stumble. As bad as Miami's pass defense is, if BG gets Omar back, I think they'll walk all over them. I could be wrong though.
  15. I don't even think any of those teams will be in the Championship game. It'll be a rematch between CMU and Akron.
  16. I have no doubt in my mind that we are going to smack the &*%^ out of Ball St. What they did last week was a fluke and much more a result of NIU not showing up to play like we did against Army then anything else. OU is the only team left on our schedule that can beat us but they won't, simply because we're Akron and they're OU.
  17. Apparently, according to the BG message board, there were a lot of Zips fans there and apparently they were loud and got some bottles thrown at them towards the end of the game. I'm anxious to hear if that included any of the Nation's finest
  18. I think that this Saturday will be remembered as the day the "Big 4" in the MAC really lost their dominance over the rest of the league. It's been happening for a while, but today was an exclamation point. Can anyone remember the last time Toledo, NIU, and BG all lost conference games in the same week?? Miami was the only "Big 4" team not affected by today, but they'd already essentially fallen off their horse with the loss to CMU earlier this season. Is parity in the MAC here to stay??
  19. BG actually fumbled the ball into the endzone and the Zips recovered, giving us a touchback and the ball on the 20.
  20. YEEESSSS!!!! Huge win guys. Huge. Now we need BG to get Omar healthy and beat Miami or for Ohio to upset 'em and we win the East.
  21. Way to waste field position.
  22. Wow, can't wait for Ball State next week. They're killing NIU!!!
  23. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! TOOOOOUCHDOWN!!!
  24. Okay screw the O-line. Sorry Dan, but they suck.
  25. Maybe we should throw it again from the 1. Man what is wrong with our offensive line??
