    You'd probably even be surprised at the number of college football fans in Akron alone that do not even know that Akron won the MAC title in 2005.  Many might not even be aware that Akron and Ohio State are even in the same division. But this I can tell you for sure....If November rolls around, and we're sitting in the top 20 in the AP poll, EVERY college football fan would notice.
    I agree one hundred percent I have freinds who watch college football religiously and didn't know Akron was D1. 2 Questions that burn my arse.1. Why does Akron play schools like that when they know they can't win. (refering to BCS schools)2.Oh they are D1?

    LOL :DIf you didn't tip because he was a horrible server, that is fine. If you didn't tip because he was wearing OSU colors, that is lame...
    You don't think a server in Columbus wouldn't get tipped if they were wearing a Michigan shirt? Well I guess that is a little more extreme since it is the Buckeyes rival. So i guess from now on I won't tip if I see someone wearing a Can't State shirt....Oh wait i don't ever see someone wearing a Can't state shirt. :D

    JD gives offensive coordinator and ass chewing, the offensive coordinator gives the offense an ass chewing, the defense doesn't say anything but their facial expressions say enough. They get it together this week unfortunately for the Hoosiers. Akron 28 - (touchdown a quarter, defense only gives us 3 turnovers this week)Indiana 24 - (3 scores and a field goal off of a zips turnover)

    This point means nothing to me:4 – different defensive categories IU ranks in the top 10 nationally. Following wins against Indiana State and Western Michigan, the Hoosiers are ranked first in sacks (6.5/game), sixth in tackles for loss (10.0/game), sixth in rushing defense (38.0 yards/game) and seventh in turnover margin (+2.5/game). Indiana also ranks a more-than-respectable 26th in total defense (280 yards/game), 29th in scoring defense (17.0 points/game) and 35th in pass defensive efficiency (101.68). The only two statistical categories that IU isn’t ranked in the top 50 of Division I football programs is net punting (52nd – 36.25/punt) and pass defense (80th – 242.0 yards/game).If we opened up with a 1AA team our stats could look bloated too.

    Competitions like this I think it is ok to be a homer. If JD would happen to win it shows a growing fan support, NEEDED publicity, and it is an award of little value if he doesn't win games. Alot of people are upset with last weeks play calling but atleast JD can admit he was too conservative if he didn't acknowledge there was a problem then I would have a problem.

    This is my response on another thread...Dr. Z we usually agree on everything but do you think that there was no half time adjustment becauseA. He felt that that swing passes, and screens were all we could do against that defense.B. The Buckeyes weren't stopping us "We" weren't executing the plays ex. missing blocking assignments, dropped balls etc.. I know when fans screen for half time adjustments a lot of times the locker room speech is that we are not executing so how can the coach say the plays don't work.C. He is just dumb and didn't make adjustments.D. He didn't have a backup game plan. He went into this game with an all of nothing attitude.

    I didn't thin Jacq was our problem in that game.I was more confident with him behind center than CJ.Jacq looked more poised to me.I love coach Moorehead, but I did not like the way he called that game.I saw no adjustment at half either. I was most dissapointed in the play calling.I was most impressed with the punting. Way to fix that blocked punt fiasco against Army.

    The very beatable team pounded the snot out of Western Michigan at Western yesterday.
    I don't look at it as western is a good team that got beat up, i look at it as indiana is not as good as ohio state. If the buckeyes score 20 then indiana should be 20 or less.

    Buckzip....no personal (since you accuse me of this) disrespect, but were you watching the same football game????For 3 quarters, Akron was one play away from taking the lead.  And we were a 28 to 33 point underdog, based on which publication you were reading this week. If I were an Ohio State fan right now, I'd be looking for a rock to climb under.  Seriously.
    I didn't climb under a rock aftre the NC championship game and certainly will not today. If we had lost today I would still not climb under a rock. Win or lose I am proud of my team.
    I wish half of Akron felt the same way!!!!!! I went to the game sat surrounded by scarlet and grey, and had to really look to find other akron fans. My wife who never goes to games said you'd think this was an out of state game for the zips.3 things made me happy saturday:1. Defensive play I thought it was outstanding, those were akron "take aways" not buckeye turnovers IMO.2. Wife had such a good time she wants to go to more games.3. Despite being a huge minority I was treated nicely by most of the fans, except for a guy that screamed at us akron sucks as we left.

    This might be more facts than I've ever seen anywhere about Akron football. I like how they rate themselves better at every position, except TE. I don't think that's going to be a difference maker. I'd also rate Akron better at DB. And possibly equal at RB since DK is a Big Ten caliber player, with depth being him. Also, I'd rate us equal at QB since they have a new starter as well.I think the real difference in a game like this will be the Nutheads' defensive front against our new offensive line. I just hope our defense can keep it close.
    I'll second that first statement!!! Damn!

    “Dennis is our go-to guy,” Brookhart said. “Last year, he was banged up. You can tell now that he’s healthy. He plays physical and he is somebody we’re going to keep handing the ball to. He’s a fairly good sized back. He has speed and he can make people miss. He’s a fairly complete player. We’re lucky to have him.”Maybe i missed it but I haven't seen Dennis make anyone miss? Granted I am glad we have him but..????
