Zips fan

Why I hate Ohio Sate? They aren't The University of Akron! I will root for our fellow MAC schools for OOC games but other that, I root against anyone that will negatively influence my team. If Can't is playing BG and BG needs a MAC loss, I would root for Can't. Ohio state is a team that negatively effects my team by taking media coverage. I personally don't care much about any big ten team, but if Ohio state didn't win another game this season, I would be smiling along. GO ZIPS!!!

I will predict that the Zips win! I think that the Zips are ready to compete with any MAC school on our home field. The Zips will have do remove mistakes and take care of the football. Zips 24 NIU 21

This is going to be a great weekend. Men's soccer Friday and Football on Saturday. I think the game with NIU will be very telling. We looked good against Purdue but lost as expected and won at MTSU which I was expecting. This will be a good challeng against NIU. They are arguably the top team in the MAC right now and win here will go along way toward reaching the MAC championship. GO ZIPS!!!

Do you have any more info on this recruit? I did a quick search and found out that one of the beacon writers has the same name. Maybe the beacon will give him some addition press for having the same name as one of their writers.

Only getting 2500 students when it is built for 7500? Why is the student turnout so low?

The tennis courts and basketball courts on the east end are down. The other side remains the same. The softball will be a welcomed addition on campus. Now, we need one more on campus stadium!

Zips home opener for men's soccer tonight! Lets Go Zips!!!

I am not ruling out a win a Purdue. We have not played the game and upsets occur. I know that we were not clicking during last years OOC schedule but we finished strong. As the players get more accustomed to the system, we should be off to a better start. I know that we will be big underdogs going into the game but Akron shouldn't go into any game with a defeated attitude! We can defeat any team on any night if things go our way!

An interesting read. Predicting the Zips at 5-6 with losses to Buffalo and Can't. I think the Zips are capable of 7-4, taking both of those games. I would be very disappointed if we don't stay on the good side of .500 I know that our best years of I-A football are on the horizon, but I feel like the Zips fanbase is growing. A losing record will not help with the fair weather fans and efforts toward a stadium. I feel Akron is capable of being a force in the MAC East and should be in the class of BG and Miami not Can't and OU.

I don't know that much about Doug Johnson, but I am guessing he was not an Academic All American. What a dumb statement for a player to make, especially when the Akron is within 50 miles. He has already been passed over in Browns fans mind for backup. I am glad to see Charlie do well and the positive fan support already.

That is great to hear! I have not been downtown lately, but I have noticed more Akron T-shirts, car stickers, and hats being worn. It would be great for the city of Akron to be completely on board with The University of Akron as their team. I hate seeing that Columbus stuff. Go Zips!!!

I think the biggest benefit JD has brought to the football team has been the recruiting. To insinuate that he has had a free pass on this board is not true. He is getting the job done. Our potential quaterback controversy will be figured out within the first two games. JD has done a great job coaching in his first season and he will figure out the best quarterback for this program.

Can anyone shed more light on this guy. I don't know much about him.
