  1. In the history of the two division (East and West) Mid-American Conference, the East Division Champion has NEVER failed to win at least 11 games. I don't see it happening this year either. The West is terrible, BG and OU aren't very good. I don't know if you will see 13-3 or 14-2, but you will certainly see a 12-4 or an 11-5.
  2. A Can't home loss would be a bit of a silver lining, but not much.
  3. Turnovers and a lack of anyone who can/will guard Rodney Pierce is a big problem here. This is a game where I wish we had Linhart's length to bother him on the perimeter.
  4. Dagger 3 from Pierce. 11 point Buffalo lead again. Fat lady warming up.
  5. Zips at least haven't given up yet. But they have to really put a run together here if they want to win this thing. Someone HAS to guard Pierce and Smiley. They are the only 2 for Buffalo who have hit more than 1 FG today. Unlike the BG game though, they are actually killing us with just the two players.
  6. Any time we want to try and defend Pierce is good by me.
  7. And then we go right back to turning it over and Steve with a intentional foul giving Buffalo 2 FT's and possession. Going to really need a break here with maybe some missed FT's or a TO on the inbound or something.
  8. McNees' third triple of the game cuts it to 10 with just under 13 to go. Zips have gone into a 2-3 Zone the last couple possessions and so far it looks to be confusing the Bulls. Still a lot of game left. Gotta take this one possession at a time.
  9. 7:31 without a fieldgoal. Another patented Zips move.
  10. It's time for Brett McKnight ballhogging time.
  11. You guys want to know what is killing the Zips?35.5% from the fieldLosing the rebounding battle 20-132-10 from three7 turnovers to 4 assists
  12. Can't let the refs get to you on this one. This is the MAC. This is what you get. It has been this way for years. Everyone in the building knows that the refs are going to suck. You HAVE to play through it. The Zips lost their composure at the end of the half because the refs got to them. Not the sign of a good team.
  13. Zips letting the refs get to them. Have to play through this. Winners win, loser complain about the refs.
  14. I just turned on the feed from 1350. As bad as it can sometimes be, I remember the headaches I went through with last years Buffalo game trying to get their video feed. I won't bother with that again.
  15. To me this is the first big test for us in MAC play with the target on our back. Going on the road to the team that is probably our biggest threat at a repeat, a team with vengance on it's mind. Hostile crowd of mounties and elk. Veteran lead team with a decent amount of depth. If we pull this one out, I think we're in for a big season.
  16. No, actually what did it was Captain calling out Jimmy in the preseason in this thread.http://zipsnation.org/forums//index.php?showtopic=15865
  17. I won't complain that they caused the Zips to win or lose. But I will complain when they turn a potentially thrilling competition into a quilting bee.I'm not saying there isn't reason to complain, but at this point, it seems like all the complaining in the world isn't going to change anything. Guess I'm pretty much just ready to waive the white flag on this one.
  18. I honestly don't know how you complain about ref's in the MAC anymore. At this point I think everyone just needs to accept that a MAC game is going to give you physical play, low scoring games, and terrible officiating. Pretty much every team in the league has complained about it for years and nothing has changed. At this point I don't think anything is going to change. Have to just deal with it and move on.
  19. I don't know how they can continue to be ignoring him. He's been our top player now for the better part of a month and a half. It isn't like this is just a flush in the plan anymore. This guy shouldn't be sneaking up on teams. I think right now he is just that good and playing with that much confidence. The thing that strikes me is that he is now he isn't just getting his points off of easy drives and putbacks. His jump shot has actually started to settle down too. It is amazing what a little confidence and a longer leash can do for a player.
  20. Ohh btw, Conyers=BEAST! I'm not afraid to say it, I love me some Jimmy Conyers.
  21. I still don't really get what others are seeing in Steward right now. Is it just that he gets the ball over the timeline a little quicker? I honestly am not seeing our offense running more efficiently with Ronnie in right now. The numbers seem to bear that out as well. Sure Steve turned it over 3 times tonight, and some of them were pretty bad, but he also had 3 assists and he can shoot from range. Ronnie doesn't have anything that I would consider a jump shot and didn't have a single assist tonight. Actually, he hasn't had an assist since the Valpo game. If the plan truly is to have Ronnie take over the starting PG spot at some point here, just call me concerned. Not saying I'm completely fine with Steve running the point so much. As I've said before, he's a combo guard. Capable of running the point at times and in certain situations. Tonight was not a good situation for Steve running the point. I'm actually starting to wonder if maybe getting Humpty some more minutes at the point would be a good idea. He seems to be a lot more controlled handling the ball this year.
  22. Zips hold on despite 2 C.McKnight missed FT's. Good win for the Zips. Gonna be tough for the Bobcats to come back from 2 home losses to open the MAC season.
  23. why not? why do we have to slow it down? why did people fear the URI press? we ran with them, and stunk it up when the game slowed down. we have 11 capable players. we should be running teams out of the gym. even our big guys (mcknights, zeke, bardo to some extent) aren't slow, at least for big men. I don't understand why we rarely see a press out of this team. with the depth and talent we have, i have a lot of confidence in saying we would dominate the MAC. or at least look better than we do now.Not talking about the RI game right now. Watching this game, when it was slow and plodding with the Zips forcing the ball inside the Zips built a big lead. When OU forced the tempo up on us, they cut the lead down and now have taken the lead themselves. Just judging this game right now.
  24. Zips crapping their pants again. Turning the ball over for easy runouts and trying to use the 3 pointer to get them back into it. OU up 1 right now. Feels like watching the Rhode Island game again.
  25. Zips built a nice little lead early, but OU has cut it to 6 at the half. OU started overplaying the passing lanes and the Zips turned the ball over a few times leading to easy fast break points for the bobkittens. Need to clean that up 2nd half. OU can't match up with the Zips in the post. Keep hammering them on that and this will be a Zips win. Don't want to get into a track meet with this team.
