Brett McKnight starts, plays 10 minutes, goes 0-5, 2 turnovers, now you see why KD goes back and forth with him? Jimmy Conyers plays 1 minute, is he in the doghouse or what?
-
I have never seen a Coach so inconsistent, doesnt play B. McKnight the last 12 minutes of the game Tuesday because of his defense, then starts him today at Bowling Green, a defensive team. We will see what happens.... geez
-
So I hear maybe all defense on Saturday, putting Sallee in instead of Goddard, hmmm we will see. AT least that is what is happening at practice, things change in a instant around here....
-
Sorry I will never root for Can't

Coach D says he will not play anyone that does not play defense, B. McKnight does not play defense, if Coach D keeps his word, we wont see him anymore....Did anyone really play any defense in last night's game? It was really a team effort of bad defense. OK I will probably get slammed for this, but sometimes IMHO I think offense wins games, there I said it! This defense wins games gets old to me, if you noticed last night, offensively we shot terrible, if we made half those shots, and still played terrible defense we would of won! Ok let the slamming begin.....

Here's another question, why are we chucking up three's with about 5 minutes to go, instead of driving inside, it made no sense to me whatsoever, and again, KD cannot blame all this on his team either, I think he has to take some of it with the coaching last night....
-
No doubt KD is great for the program but tonight, he was Tim O'Shea. That was his worst coaching job since taking over by a long shot. I'm still scratching my head over the substitutions or lack of throughout the game. I guess I understand sticking with your seniors to some degree but at some point when guys are hurt (Middleton) and unproductive/lost (Milum), you have to go to others for extended periods and let them play. I thought Roberts, B McKnight and even C McKnight were well on their way to stepping up tonight untill they got nailed to/lost on the bench the last 10 minutes. In general, the players didnt have it tonight and we needed KD to find the right rotations and step up guy for a victory. Instead of finding it, he looked confused and pulling players in/out at random to the point that no one was able to get into the flow of the game. And can someone tell me why no one is allowed to drive to the basket on this team - McNees, Roberts, Linhart can all slash to the basket but we are always so concerned about setting up the perimeter offense. You have to have some allowance for penetration in the offense by someone other then Dials. To me, Kd is just not making very good adjustments to life without Wood.I dont want to hear about losing Wood...losing Middleton.....Dials playing on one leg......losing Joyce....losing Romeo. It's all unfortunate but get on with it and play some of the other talent for extended time loosening the leash alittle and letting others heal up for the MAC Tourney. Maybe a little more confidence and work in the younger guys would go a long way (the Roberts/B McKnight/McNees combo actually put us back in the game). We cannot limp into the tourney with nagging injuries and have any realistic shot. As for Quade playing well tonight - I must have watched a different game and missed all his blocked shots on the interior. He was a non factor.Just because someone has great character, you don't keep playing him... this is where Coach D confuses me, it's everything he is against. And why you take out B. McKnight who was on a roll, I will never know.

Wow, do you think before you post?
-
I don't think Goddard turned the ball over, who could catch that pass from point guard? Was anyone getting back the other way tonite to stop anyone? I do think he had his chance though and because his three's didn't hit, he will be out of rotation, if there is a rotation?
-
He did get his chance, but didn't lose the game, playing 1 minute intervals, how does anyone get a rhythm going?
-
So put him in at like 4 minute spurts. Let him stand 25 feet back and fire it up. He will hit 3 out of 5 a quick nine points take him out and bring him back in at the end of teh half. It would be awesome. I know that you guys are halfway joking about this, but that isnt how basketball works. Do you not think that other teams will catch on to THE ONLY THING THAT GODDARD CAN DO? Not to mention that he is the biggest liability on D that we have. He gives up more than he puts in. I know that fans would get 'a kick' out of it, but that sure isnt winning basketball. Now, I am not against putting him for about 5 min a game if we continue to be depleated. And it seems as though that we are not going to be healthy with Wood out, Ced with a half leg and back, and Dials with what I heard a muscle injury in his hip. But when you put Goddard in you have to have someone out there to give him direction. And the last home game was a good example of that. He was lost out there except when he was shooting the ball. The only way that he could be as effective is if we have leadership out there that can get him in the right spots and to help him along. What are you talking about? Lost out there? Even in Dambrot's interview he said Goddard can play defense so not sure where you got that? He only needs 5 minutes like you said on the floor, maybe 1st quarter, and 2nd quarter to get some points (he actually can do more than shoot the three, but never gets the chance), from what I hear, he is part of the rotation. If you saw Dambrot's quotes, he has said B McKnight has hit a wall..... we will find out tonite I guess, heck we need some help! 5 minutes wont kill us, and I still say that you can throw some others in too, Carroll maybe?
-
Goddard gets 3 minutes, shoots once and misses and is taken out, never to be seen again. Didn't really give him a chance....
-
It's hard to disagree sometimes. He's shown flushes of what he can do, but he got here so late. He's behind the 8-ball quite a bit, especially on the defensive end. Unfortunatley he doesn't seem to be able to catch up as quick as Roberts has.Remember he's a freshman, he should be seeing limited time, and when he does get his chance, he does not prove himself yet, give him time.

Chris McKnight had 18 pts, not Brett, I think Brett only play 3 or 4 minutesSo you're telling me that Chris McKnight, not Brett, hit 6 threes?Yep. Both McK's can hit the 3, but Brett seems a bit better at it so far.No one hit 6 three's, Chris had 3 three's, not sure where you are getting your info from.... and he had 16 pts. not 18....Official Basketball Box ScoreAkron vs Western Michigan02/06/08 7 p.m. at Kalamazoo, Mich. Where is Goddard?

What he said.....

Nothing on last nights game? Thoughts? How many were there?
-
Please...Somebodys gotta take the blame of why he played so poorly, I am sure Coach D was embarrassed about it since he started him, and took the blame himself. He did recruit him didn't he? 4 minutes of play for a starter?
-
You are forgetting Darrel Roberts, he is starting too I would say

Heard they were starting the two freshman
