  1. Looks like Nevada is averaging 8100 fans a game at home. Their place holds a little over 11000.
  2. Joe Dunn ... like nails on a chalkboard with his tinny voice. I LOVE homers but Joe has never seen a game he didn't think "Akron could get outta here with the win." Like the guy said in a previous post - take him out back and beat him with his trumpet! :chair:Stams does do a very nice job with football. :thumb:Are there ANY decent signals in the area that reach all of us? I agree that 88.1 WZIP is the logical place for Akron broadcasts. No problem getting it out here in Norton. I talked to someone at Akron a couple of weeks ago and he said WZIP controls their own programming and they simply weren't interested when approached to do the broadcasts about 5 years ago. Hopefully Mack Rhoades can leverage the recent athletic success at Akron in soccer, football, and basketball to get WZIP to reconsider. FM has to be the way to go - AM has too much variability.
  3. Have any of you listened to Bill Needle over at Can't or the guy doing Cleveland State games? I think we are fortunate to have someone like Steve French calling our games. Love the enthusiasm he brings to his call of the games. OK, so he gets on the officials - WHY SHOULDN'T HE TELL IT THE WAY IT IS?! MAC officials suck and have for YEARS!!!! Keep Steve French - he does a decent job and, like KD, WANTS TO BE HERE!
  4. Great big giant sucking sound - can't win if you can't score. VERY weak (non-existent?) inside game and the 3s just weren't there today. Gotta regroup and take care of business against Western.
  5. Put me down for a chance at national exposure. If we win - a feather in our cap, positive national exposure, and I would think it would only help our RPI assuming the team we play has a similar RPI. If we lose - bummer, possible negative national exposure, and I guess we're not quite where we want to be yet. Frankly, I'm tired of watching Louisville, Kentucky, and UConn - looking forward to watching Akron at Nevada!
  6. Is anyone aware of any effort at the U of A to find a radio station with a stronger, more reliable (FM?) signal? We live in Norton (8-10 miles from campus) and I have to subscribe to the Internet broadcast if I want to listen to Zip broadcasts. Signal is OK for the most part from Akron out route 224/76 to Cleveland-Massillon Road. Once we exit and head into Norton, goodbye signal. Parts of Copley are the same way. I had no problem with reception outside of the Wolstein Center in CLEVELAND!? the other night. REALLY FRUSTRATING!
