  1. Zac's a great guy. I wish him the best of luck!
  2. Can't has class??????
  3. Maybe he will grow 3 or 4 inches and play forward...
  4. Me too. A boomerang might not be bad either.
  5. IMHO, bowling is as much a sport as golf and rifle. None of them require any running and strenth training may or may not be a help, but they all require lots of practice to refine the necessary accuracy and repetition skills as well as adjusting to conditions (yes even bowling lane conditions vary).
  6. Increased attendance with the winning also helps the $$.
  7. Maybe I'm just old, but I prefer WCan't State over WZIP. Mostly for NPR and some of the other programming, but sometimes for the classical music.
  8. Not exactly where on the site that I was looking for the list, but that's fine.Zac is also a pretty good softball player now. I had the pleasure of playing on the same team as he a few times.
  9. Nice list!!! Wonder why we can't get that kind of information (statistical records too) at GoZips.com?
  10. There's also the Akron Canton News show (Warner Cable 23?) that is possibly being phased out. Another media outlet for the Akron area that's possibly vanishing. We could end up with no media coverage at all unless someone steps up to keep them alive.I'm sure this is a stretch, but could the university take over the local tv news show and produce it through the communications program (like they do with WZIP)? Only do it as a commercial endeavor so that they can sell advertising and even (maybe) televise the sports?
  11. BSU stadium link
  12. I remember seeing 25K on the BSU web page.
  13. along with the Tim O'Shea story at SI story link ...With the requisite paperwork finally completed, the Marquette Golden Eagles officially welcomed Maurice Acker into the fold Monday. Acker is transferring from Ball State, where he was named the Mid-American Conference freshman of the year after averaging 9.2 points and 4.6 assists in 28 games. Under NCAA regulations, Acker won't be eligible to play until the 2007-'08 season.-- Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
  14. looks confirmed...MSN sports link
  15. While I like the thought of more exposure through a bowl game, I think adding more bowl games slightly diminishes its value. The more bowl games there are, the easier it is to get in one. I'd be happier getting additional conference affiliation in an existing bowl.
  16. I somewhat agree. The helmet logo is too new to be changing already and should stay. Changing the stripe on the pants (ala Carolina Panthers) wouldn't be OK though I think (especially if the A-Roo is used there also). And the colors have to stay the same!
  17. I agree. As much as I would like to see them get slaughtered, I at least want them to get past the first round. I don't think they will get past Kansas anyway.
  18. to go along with the austrailian theme (Zippy)... how about Outback Steakhouse?
  19. the team shop in the future stadium should be something like the Aeros team shop with Exchange St. visibility for people driving/walking by and open more hours (noon-8PM? daily and weekends). It would be nice if they could expand the offerings also.
  20. I agree. Some of the other schools have old stadiums and were ranked above ours, so it can't just be because it's old. It has a bit of architectural identity that might be cool and worth saving/renovatiing if it were only on campus.
  21. The RubberBowl ranked 10th in the conferance overall, dead last in setting and structure, second in history, and ninth in fans.I think the history thing has something to do with old Browns games, and maybe it being a WPA project. Not sure what their criteria really were for these ratings. I do think we can improve on them with the new stadium (when it finally gets built).
  22. Maybe some of you have seen this before, but here's a ranking of football stadiums by conference...MSNBC stadium rankingsWe score high only on history and I think we are on our way to raising our reputation in the fan category. This shows some reasons to "git 'er done" building the new stadium. Let's go Mack!
  23. even 4000 would still beat the heck out of 1000... and Philly has a lot more people to draw from than Akron!
