  1. Just finished watching the Xavier game, and what a crock of SH*T!  Once again, the refs have to make sure that one of the big boys doesn't get beat in a close game.  Near the end of the game, with Xavier up by 2, the State Public College of Ohio (aka OSU) player,  absolutely and without question shoved the Xavier player out of bounds after he rebounded their tOSU's last attempt at a shot.  It was a total, and unequivocal intentional foul (he wasn't going for the ball in the least, he simply shoved him to the floor), and OF COURSE, the refs didn't call the intentional foul, only a 'normal' foul.  So instead of Xavier getting the shots, and the ball back (which would have sealed the game), they only got to shoot two shots (and of course missed one), letting the other team score a three in regulation to go into overtime and take over the game.If the frickin refs would have made the correct call, Xavier would have won the game, but OH NO, you have to keep the BCS schools in to the end if you can!
Give me a break. Oden was mauled underneath and was off balance, simply trying to foul in what was a complete scuffle underneath the basket. It wasn't intentional, and it would be a true shame for a game between two teams going at it so hard to be decided by a call like that. Bottom line - the Xavier guy hits the 2nd free throw and it's over. And if Xavier doesn't throw a lazy inbounds pass late in the game, it's also over. Xavier had the game and lost the game, not the referees.
  2. hey everyone needs to calm down...its a freakin t-shirt design...a t-shirt, what is wrong with taking ideas for t-shirts??...personally i think its pretty clever...yeah the mastercard thing might be overdone, but its good...and we are looking ahead...its a t-shirt for NEXT year
Wouldn't it be even better next year to focus on...next year? Why would we want to re-live this crap when we can focus on a pretty damn good team next year finally making it to the Big Dance?
  3. Wow, your college students. Get over it! You go to school to get an education. AK-NOT University is NOT a school known for sports. Miami won fair and square, cheer them on, act like your parents taught you to have a little bit of Class and SHOUT "HAIL TO MIAMI OF OHIO"  :thumb:
    A) Funny that you say to act with class and then bash our school.B.) I certainly hope you weren't inferring that Miami OH is a school known for sports. C) While I personally hope Miami does well, I don't think I'll be doing any of their chants lol.
  4. It's an interesting question...The arguments to cheer for Miami?- Looks good for the MAC if they have a good showing- Charlie Coles has been a huge Zips supporter- They didn't do anything to us...it was the officials and committeesAnd to cheer against?- Should be us there...might hurt to see them do wellThoughts?

  5. Not a comparison just trying to make MY POINT. :P
Well please think harder next time. I'm hardly PC all the time, but comparing our basketball team not making the postseason to the largest terrorist attack in United States history is nothing short of ridiculous.
  6. "WHAT DOES IT ACCOMPLISH?" I am sure it cannot be proven but some of our emails to various media etc has gotten national exposure. It is what is needed to get this ugly thing to change and change in this case will be very good. Should we all get over 911 too?? I think not-we need to keep this ball rollin! Just my humble opinion. ;)
Tell me you didn't just compare the Akron Zips basketball team not making a postseason tournament to 9 freaking 11... :wall:
  7. How about "Let's get over it and focus on next year"?
How about that ain't happening. To quickly let this injustice blow over just endorses the idea that it's O K to screw over the little guy. My bitterness and resentment toward the old farts at the NIT will remain strong for a long time. I'm not going to get over it soon damn it.Slay the NIT committee
And just like the bracket burning, or the shirt, or whatever protest idea...what does it accomplish? It's time to move on...
  8. The reason I came here was because my Website tracking software showed a huge influx from this forum's topic. The only way I could respond, and more clearly explain my opinion was to register and post.I did not write about Akron on my site to incite people here. I did not know about this site anymore than you did mine. Obviously something I wrote struck a nerve with many here. Moohead Radio is 100% free. I don't think in terms of winning or losing. I have bookmarked your site. I will put a 125x125 banner on my site to promote your forum. No charge, like all Moohead affiliates. Just send me a 125x125 banner. It's all about the free flow of info and opinions on the internet. Like all free thinking things, if you like the show, you listen. If you don't, you don't. Think a little before you write, dude.Cow (shaking head in disgust)
I think this has more to do with people being treated equally and less to do with you Moo. You really did nothing wrong.
  9. Chins up, Zippies; you got chearin' to do!
*cough* 42-14 *cough*Gators are not in your bracket. That means that if you can survive long enough, I'll get out the popcorn and root for a repeat embarassment for the 2nd time in several months.
I'll say two things:1) Bow, if you have something to actually bring to discussion then great. If you're just trying to pick fights, get lost. You're making us other Akron/OSU fans look bad. 2) Zen, is it really possible to rip on OSU for losing in the National Title game when our school will never even make it to one? I'm just saying...they kind of have ultimate scoreboard on the field.
  10. I don't think Middleton or Dials wants to start at point guard next year. And my guess would be the Dambrot doesn't see either of them filling that role unless necessary. So, doesn't that leave either Steward or McNees as the projected starting point guard?
No offense...but what are you basing your opnion on that they don't want to play PG? And why in the world wouldn't you start those two?
  11. I had about a 30 minute conversation with Rick today. He was seriously remorseful for snapping in those e-mails. This guy has a background in coaching and probably isn't used to being diplomatic. He seems to be a legitimately nice guy who really likes Akron. He has personal connections with Dambrot, Dials and Joyce.
Glad to see he stepped up and apologized...I made mention of his snapping in my blog, I'll also make sure to make mention of an apology. There's nothing wrong with him defending his beliefs...but the snide remarks werent needed. Glad to see he (hopefully) realizes that now. :thumb:

  13. Nothing like looking like a bunch of sore losers.  And trust me, whether it's right or wrong, that's how we'd be perceived around the country.
Do we just take it from the NCAA/NIT and say "oh, thank you....may we please have some more?"Is it being a sore loser to do anything to make it known that we're not happy with being screwed? Sore losers whine when they legitimately lose. We didn't legitimately lose a NIT berth; we were screwed out of it. Just look at the RPIs.
What do you accomplish by burning brackets or doing a protest? And do you really think that will make them look favorably on us in the future?
