It was getting pretty boring pounding them year after year......... At least now we can have a real rivalry game that may actually matter year after year.....and we can still pound them How can it almost be the third week in October and I've been to the Rubber Bowl once ? Can't's remaining MAC schedule is as easy as it could get. They play none of the current top three teams in the West - No Nothern Ill, No Central, No Western - and have the toughest games - Toledo and Ohio - at home. It's going to take them waking up and remembering that THEY ARE K.E.N.T to lose the East.

I was told that the packages are in the process of being mailed out and should be received by next week. If you don't get them by late next week, call the ticket office.Also, I heard rumor that they will try something new on distributing the BB season tickets. Rather then just sending them out by mail, there may be a season ticket holder preseason party that you will get an invite to and pick up your tickets. Could be interesting if they run it right. Just something I heard but I hope they try it, I like the idea.

Last I had heard, he had no BCS school offers - especially OSU. I thought that this kid actually might be one of the locals that slips thru for one reason or another and ends up at Akron. He does seem that good.

Good rant filled with a lot of issues/facts that have been discussed here.Since you were a Massillon Tiger and may have some existing ties, do you know much about potential Zip recruit Brian Gamble and where he might end up ? I thought I heard that the Zips had offered early from another Massillon booster. I've seen him play several times and he seems to be one of the better players in the area but is not getting much attention from larger schools. Is he that good ? Is eligibility an issue keeping BCS schools away ?Thanks and welcome to the board.

Preseason RankingLet's hope that the BB team handles their preseason hype a little better then the football team. A lot of media are jumping on the Zips wagon with high expectations past the MAC. Everyone is looking for the next George Mason and you can expect Akron to be mentioned over and over in preseason pubs.

I think you are absolutely WRONG. Just got back from the game and I would hardly say that Can't is bigger and faster then Akron based off the game today. GP1 - I'm dissappointed in you - that's what I would expect from someone who doesn't know much about football - That's such an easy answer to this game. Now, tell me the Zips got outplayed and I willll agree with you. Tell me the Zips didn't show up and have any intensity - I'll agree with you. Tell me that all the breaks went with Can't today and I'll agree. When Can't threw up a prayer of a pass, it was answered. When they needed a conversion on 3rd down, somehow it was converted, it was just their day and they gave it to us good. But more talented -- I really dont think you can say that off of this one game. That is ridiculous. We were outplayed and outcoached - Can't deserved it today. But more talented after just one day - Cmon GP1, the sky is not falling...............and we still out recruited them and the program is on the right track.

I'll take French over most play by play announcers. The guy is just awesome and he just bleeds Zips. If you ever get a chance to talk Zips history with him, he's a walking Zips encyclopedia. I hope that he’s around for a long time. We are lucky to have him.I didn’t get a chance to hear it – we were watching the NCSU game on TV but a number of people told me that his call at the end of the game was incredible.

I'm shocked. Even with the OSU game, the Beacon's Zips coverage is very good today. They actually gave more space to the Zips. Figure that one out.

Not that it's going to help but I thought French mentioned that DLM was at the game. I still dont believe it, the Beacon never sends reporters on the road with the Zips. This win deserves some coverage but I'm prepared not to be dissappointed.......just dont put us underneath Can't. Isn't it sad how low the expectations of the Beacon have become ?
