If he lands the jersey sponsorship deal, which would be the first in the MAC to my knowledge, his phone will be ringing pretty quickly IMO. I'm assuming his interest is already picking up with the publicity from this promo, but the jersey sponsorship would be a HUGE resume highlight. No matter what happens, he has been a home run hire and hopefully means we have a recipe for success to find his successor. In the meantime, I'm very curious to see what he has cooked up for soccer & basketball. If this is what he can pull off for a less-than-successful football program, what's in store for the uber-successful soccer & basketball programs?

It's a decent addition. He doesn't really make them bigger or more versatile on the perimeter, but he's a decent post player and adds depth down low.

Putting the cart quite a bit ahead of the horse here, but if we make a bowl game, do another drawing to have the opening drive of that game scripted by a fan, too. Not sure if it's too early, but incorporate sales for 2027.

I believe you're correct and the revenue from that would be substantial. P4s are getting 8 figures I believe, so Akron would be high 6 figures at the very least, if not 7 figures I'd have to imagine?

This is what I was thinking, especially with him flying private. Could easily do a show from Akron on Friday as he "preps" for his gameday duties then fly up to Akron on Saturday to do the calls. Some of his crew could stay in Akron, too. AJ lives in Columbus.

Akron will be in the ESPN Invitational - Adventure Bracket - November 23-25. Adventure Group includes App State, Belmont, St. Bonnie, Wright State, and Yale.

I mentioned this in the other thread. There should be 2 winners and at the very least they should co-develop the game plan (would make it even cooler for the fan to be able to meet the celebrity). Could even make it 2 drives in the game (1st drive of each half?) and have it be a competition between the 2 winners for the most successful drive. Someone mentioned in the other thread that there will be a press conference for the selection.

1) If the NCAA comes down on this promo after so much success, the backlash will be against them, not Akron. 2) No idea but this would be a nice touch. 3) Too late for most schools to copy this. Probably will see some copycats next year, maybe to a lesser extent late this season, but Akron being the first will always be referenced as the first. 4) I hope they rig it and make sure a celebrity wins it. That would ultimately be the best for the progrum attention wise.

It's week 2 and Ohio State plays at Texas that day. Unless we beat Wake Forest and the flu cancels the Ohio State/Texas game, I'm going to temper national attention expectations on gameday haha. However, I could see a Barstool podcast doing a "gameday" from Akron on that Saturday. Wild stat. Barstool's BigCat said he bought $600 worth of season tickets, so it's not just 1 entry people are buying. I also think there's a general sentiment where it's fun to support creative programs like this. Like Kreed said, the decimal point is moved to the left quite a bit for some of the larger local companies and it's a negligible use of funds. Very feasible for our affordable "luxury" suites to be sold it (and should be).

Speaking of ACC, imagine how much run this will get in the ACC Network coverage of our week 1 game at Wake. Better yet, imagine the momentum the program will be carrying if we're competitive with Wake.
