Regardless of whatever statement you think I was insinuating, California's annual net loss in population in recent years would side with me. For as beautiful as that state is, there's clearly something wrong with it, so you can do some digging to figure out what that is. However, I was mainly referring to the financial benefits of being in Arizona vs. California, especially as he's nearing retirement age (currently 63 years young).

Providence just hired Hodgson from USF, who turned down Cuse due to a lack of funding. Providence is rumored to be in the $10M range next year for their roster. P4 doesn't mean the resources are better; Iowa is exhibit A. McCollum is just that good of a coach. Florida has ample resources but Golden sucks both as a coach and as a human being. It's possible to compete outside the P4, but it requires the right coach/staff.

Creighton should be one of the premier jobs in the country. Outside of UCONN, the entire Big East should be. Without football, the revenue share can all go towards basketball; don't need to rely on donors as much.

100%. It magnifies less-than-perfect shooting IMO. TTU was pure on Friday - nothing but nylon. The NCAA is so so so so so bad. I question more and more if the NCAA governing body isn't more of a money laundering operation than anything.

I questioned this early in the game thread. Tavari had one layup bounce HARD off the backboard and he seemed to shy away from using the backboard the rest of the game. His floaters and reverse layups went straight for the cylinder which requires more precision, especially with over-inflated balls. Our bounce passes seemed to catch the recipient off guard as well. One team made their 3s - the other didn't and tried doing their damage in the paint. To completely dismiss this is silly.

Assuming "upset" is referring to simply the seeds, then this isn't stating Cinderellas are dead - this is stating the gap between the elite programs and the field is growing. Kentucky just got beat by 19 today and Iowa State's best player (arguably) didn't even play. It's not a NIL problem - it's a Transfer Portal problem. That is the #1 issue that needs resolved in college athletics. Not only does there need to be some sort of limitation on movement, but commitments need to be minimum 2 years contractually. Also, teams need compensated for losing talent, especially mid majors.

I think that's a common use of the term, but it is important to point out that the lawlessness with the Transfer Portal is the biggest issue.

I don't think think Cody would've accepted a redshirt had he not planned to be here for the long haul. Guy was an assassin at Lipscomb his freshman year. He also looked very engaged with the team throughout the season. I think he took multiple huge steps this year. In addition to his defensive improvement, he really looked to dribble drive and be more aggressive on offense. I will forever wish they would've just given him the ball at the logo during latter part of the TTU game to fire up 3s. We needed our white 3P assassin more than ever (the key to nearly every Cinderella run haha). Bull. Akron doesn't have a permanent ceiling. Akron just hasn't had the right bounces/luck to hit that next level. Fully believe we'll get there, especially with Bud Wentz as "The Orchestrator." Fully believe there will start to be a sense of pride for mid majors players to want to break the narrative that Cinderellas are dead. Young adults are naturally rebellious. Programs like Akron that can provide long term financial opportunities will be able to break through as long as the culture is there. Gotta wait and see if he's committed to the program. If he is, the potential is endless with him. He could be nasty on offense and a real problem for opponents defensively. Really wish he would've developed more because we needed his size/versatility more and more as the season went on.
