You're right - I should've been more specific. I was referring to the suits with and behind the NCAA and their financial enrichment that likely comes on the back end of blowing millions on legal fees to fight this.

The NCAA doesn't care about those "kids" lol. Ever since the COVID crap, there have been extra years given all over the place blocking kids from getting playing time. Not to mention the revolving door NIL/transfer portal system they created that has harmed equally as many if not more players. The Class of 2022 has been in the middle of it all and has probably been harmed the most. Apparently Charlie Baker released a statement about the lawsuit and continued to push Congress to pass the Protect College Sports Act. They believe this lawsuit and the steadfast chaos with the 5in5 rule may be the NCAA's last ditch effort to get that passed. Weaponizing this rule to pass that is gross but the NCAA isn't above such low-level behavior.

I need to know who exactly at the NCAA offices in Indy is benefiting from the 2022 class being barred from the 5-in-5 rule, because the NCAA is literally dying on this hill. What a performative load of crap.

Interesting interpretation/explanation. Per the comments, apparently there is precedent, too, which would strengthen the action of the order. Based on what @zippy5 posted above, I'd imagine this is a pretty strong foundation for Oriol and Mahaffey to play.

This. The argument doesn't start with whether or not DeWine/other governors have any ruling authority over the NCAA. It starts with did the NCAA make the right call in barring this class from the eligibility rule change. The answer is no which is why politicians like DeWine are in a position to try and win brownie points with the public by sticking their nose in this mess.

NCAA's statement. And yet the NCAA has governed for years to protect its own interests (money).

Their response is so flawed. I really hope the courts see through the crap and rule in favor of the athletes. Here is an interesting excerpt... "The Athletes completed four seasons of NCAA basketball during a four-year period and therefore exhausted their eligibility under the rules applicable during their years of play. The Athletes do not dispute that they are no longer eligible under the Four-in-Five Year Rule that applied each year they played collegiate sports." At the golf outing, Dustin Ford made the point that all the 2026-27 freshman committed under the Four-in-Five Year Rule but are now covered under the Five-in-Five Year Rule along with 3(?) other classes of athletes. All they had to do was grandfather in this class to avoid the chaos. The NCAA's stance is weak and we are less than a month away from the season. I hope the courts stick it to 'em for creating this mess.

Right and that's my point. We'll be able to figure out a bit more in our attack without relying on him so much.

Wouldn't be opposed to this. Remi might be the best ST/F we have, and even if that's the case, this will give others a chance to gain confidence ripping shots on net. We need that more than anything this season IMO.

Let's be honest as well - Lunardi isn't exactly doing deep dives into the MAC in September/October. "Who won the MAC last year? Akron? 14 seed it is."

This ended up costing Syracuse the game. It's a risky strategy to play such a high line because the proper through ball/run can get behind so easily. Impressive finish by Remi with a defender on his back and taking the shot from outside the box. What a game. A chip shot, an absolute rocket, a saved PK, a sub-5-minute game winning goal, and a save off the line on a dangerous failed clear with 2 minutes to go. It had everything.

1) If it's a state by state situation, couldn't athletes/schools take additional action because of the unfair nature that would pose? 2) You're already seeing the personnel transition with the size increase on the roster. The system shouldn't change much considering how much of a hand I'd imagine Ford had in Groce's system. 3) We're as deep and as talented as we've ever been. Love what @Hilltopper said above - run teams out of the gym.
