Did he explain why the MAC office has been silent during the biggest raping in it's history?Hell, even something on their website to epress their "extreme displeasure that the NIT decided not to select Akron" would have been a start.

I just received an email back from...

Page BR-157. Rule 10, Section 3, Article 4. - No. Time had expired before they came onto the court.Page BR-158. Rule 10, Section 3, Article 9a. - No. Not sure what you are inferring, but if you are talking about subs before the 0.6 was played, the ball was dead and both teams can sub.Page BR-165. So what about all the calls that went uncalled the whole game, and i mean if this guy has been working the shot clock for all the years that the Official stated in the email, how can he allow somthing like that to happen? If it is the same guy who does the cavs game, I never see or have heard of him messin up the clock in them games... just my opinion, you can blame the refs, guy working the clock, and blame the team for missin the FT. That's because the NBA officials control the clock in the last 2 minutes of the game. Have you ever noticed how they have their hand on that "pager" looking device on their belt whenever the ball is put in play? They start and stop the clock remotely.By the way, the only reason MooS*%T wrote that article was to capitalize on your traffic. 98% of us here had never heard of him until he wrote something he knew would piss us off. Now many have visited and some have listened. He won. I am surprised the board admins allowed that link to another site.

26 wins. That must be a record.

Akron was the lead story on the ESPN2 bracketology show. They said "were it not for a timing error, they would be gonig to the NCAA."
-
Man, the last time I brought up anything about ZIps sports and WZIP, I got spanked down here!! To your other point, Kevin Kaene WILL just shuffle you along if you call in and manageto get thorugh the screener. I know from experience.
-
Thanks. I am really interested. I listened through the balck outs but lost interest once they went to their regular programming. I really wanted to hear KD's comments.
-
I know this is going to be a big stretch, but WTAM could dedicate just one hour of their evening talk to local college related topics. Does anyone do it? We love to talk about this stuff online, but immagine if you could call in and be heard over the air.
-
You aint' kidding me! I get plenty of WAKR since we live very close to their transmission towers. It bleeds into any electronic device in our house. AKR would be a dream station for Zips fans. Does anyone know what happened last night? Were they just not able to get back on the air or did French just finally say "the hell with it"?I know Frenchy elluded that there were probablems locally in Miami with the facility, but I doubt that would be the reason at The Q.

Where do I start? How many more technical problems must we endure with this high school station before we can kick them to the curb? Has there been any explaination for the technical difficulties last night in the post game show right in the middle of KD's comments? They never came back on the air!!! WTF!!! This station regularly has cut out during the most crucial times of the season in both basketball and football.I want to contact the station to discuss this, but I need to compile the problems. Can you help me?In addition to last night, I remember problems during the Miami road game, the BG game (I think) and one of the football games this year. All happened in the final minutes of close games. There are more. That's where you come in. What were they?Mack Rhodes: Fire that POS station. Maybe AM850 would be interested? They are under new management and are looking for good local content. Their signal sucks, but it is better than 1350. I swear, their game day equipment must be 40 years old and be held together by duct tape.

This link would be more appropriate:http://wtam.com/pages/listener_comments.html

Fixing scheduling at the MAC Conference office level makes much more sense. If teams like Akron have problems getting good teams to come to their home court, then the conference as a whole needs to pull together. For example, if a Big East team wants to play an easier-to-beat MAC team, then they have to play an elite MAC team as well. You can't play 20 road games and 10 home games.
-
You try to put the schedule together then!! When you have a Mid-Major team such as Akron that is as good as they are and was projected to be this good, would you send your team to Akron. Sure, many would have hosted us, but would you want to play a VAST majority of your schedule on the road? KD did a fine job. Hit your free throws, and you erase the chance of losing due to a timing error. You control your own destiny.Look at all seven of Akron's losses this year. A total of 21 points over seven games. That's 3-4 more FTs in each game. We've known this to be our weakness. Now it killed us.

One of the guys on ESPN called Akron the next Air Force. I heard it from the other room, so I wasn't sure who made the comment. Either way, even if a miracle happens, another miracle must happen when we face a buzzsaw highly-ranked team.
-
The ROWDIES will be in section 133. The Akron bench is in front of sections 126 and 127 for those that haven't purchased tickets yet.

Classy. Very classy. You joined just to post that too. I respect that.GO ZIPS!

A birdie told me today that we won't be met with much resistence if we do! SHhhhhhh!!!As for the Nevada prediction, that can't happen. I thought there was some rule about not playing a team we faced in the regular season schedule in the first round of the NCAA tourney (just like you can't face someone in your conference). If I'm right, the ESPN Bracketology folks are morons!

....and I have a very good friend who is a die-hard Pitt fan/alumni and they are worried if they draw Akron. He knows the zips well as he has gone to several games over the past 3 years with me.Oh, and he's right......!! But let's take care of business Saturday night first.

If you look up "Hot Flushes" in Wikipedia, you get this!!!!

This is disconcerting...I hate having to track down Zips apparal in stores like a private detective. I don't want it to be as common as the cheap OSU crap you see even in Discount Drug Mart. But I would loveto just be able to walk into your typical sports store and buy some Roo gear. Having the mysteriousZips store in the JAR open sporadically is the dumbest marketing move ever.p.s. I don't mind the shirt having the dreaded Can't logo on it, I wouldn't wear it personally. Though I would buy it for someone if some money went toward Zips athletics. I just think it's cool to build up the rivalry and get as much mileage out of it as possible. Man you definately feel my pain...I have resorted to only shopping online for "quality zips gear" cause nothing burns my ass more than when I drive 2 hours north, go to the jar and the damn store isn't open, for no good reason. The closest store that I know of that sells nice Zips gear is Kohls on Arlington road near I-77. That's where I get most of my "unofficial" Zips stuff. And it's all on sale now!
