  1. Ohio.com game story
  2. That's right! Syracuse. Good year in Stark Co.
  3. Good to hear this. Watching him early I was fearful he'd be a bust.
  4. Treon Sibley was named 1st Team All-Ohio D-III @ DB.
  5. This game is so bad we're going to be less prepared to face Creighton on Saturday than we were before tip-off.
  6. Thought we'd offer Keye. I've seen him listed between 6-0 & 6-1 and 200-205 lbs. He was D-II 1st Team NEO Inland District @ LB & had crazy good stats, which I couldn't find - I'll look around a little later & see if I can find them. Btw, the above was retweeted by Justin Sampson, so they're obviously pretty tight. Good sign. Edit: I can't find his stats, but what stood out to me was that he had exactly the same # of tackles as Reggie Corner Jr. but even more solo tackles. He plays LB while Reggie played S, but still. Reggie was named D-I Inland District POY, so that shows what kind of stats Keye compiled. Btw, Zips' commit Dustin Burkhardt also retweeted the above tweet. The players we're recruiting either have, or will have, a lot of friends on the team. There's a good synergy building in the area!
  7. Pretty sure Stark Co. already has 5 D-1 players this year: 1. Malcolm Robinson, DL, Massillon 2. Thayer Munford, OL, Massillon 3. Griffin Baumoel, LB, CCC 4. Matt Carrick, OL, Perry 5. Reggi Corner Jr., S, McKinley Wouldn't be surprised if there were another one or two offered before February. I'm happy about Reggie Corner Sr. being a coach at McKinley.
  8. This dude's a tank. Built like the Incredible Hulk. 6-1, 260, and can run!
  9. My "Hot Take"... this guy's going to be Ohio's Mr. Football 2017.
  10. yesssss! So glad we got on this guy early. he is true beast!
  11. Where do you get that?
  12. Ditto. This year ended in a bitterly disappointing fashion, but this year's recruiting class is shaping up to look how I've been dreaming for 20 years Zips' recruiting classes would look. It's great! And it can get better. Lots of talent within a stone's throw of UA. Gotta keep them home!
  13. It's still eating at me how our lack of depth at QB derailed this season. Anyone remember whatever happened to this guy? Chandler was the highlight of 2014's recruiting class (along w/ Boxen). 6-4, 230, 3-star, rated by ESPN as the 26th best QB in the country & had offers from Pitt, Temple & Rutgers. Man, could we have used him this year, or what? Can't find anything on either Google or Twitter.
  14. I don't know what the exact numbers are and I have no link to reference, but I do know just from following recruiting for the past 20 years that Summit always cranks out considerably more D-I talent than Stark.
  15. As has been mentioned above, we've also got two more offers out to two other players who made 1st Team All-Ohio D-II: LB Bubba Arslanian of Aurora & P Jonah Wieland of Hudson If we'd land both of those two we'd have a pretty stacked class! One criticism I've had of Bowden's recruiting is that we hadn't landed a premier running back... this year we have not one, but two 1st Team All-Ohio RB's coming in: Jemarulin Suggs (D-III) & Marquise Bridges (D-II). There are two more un-offered, but intriguing offensive prospects on the All-Ohio D-II & D-III list... both WR's: Austin Jasinski, Massillon, 6-1, 163 (D-II) (might be a little slight, but I read an article about him & he seems to be an athlete who just simply has a knack for making plays on offense, defense & special teams... just a coordinated, great athlete) & Tyler Adams, Louisville, 6-0, 175 (D-III) (I've mentioned Adams before. He's not flashy, but a really sound, consistent football player who's been putting up impressive stats for three years now. Possession receiver kinda guy.)
  16. Undefeated WMU at #17 is an insult.
  17. Joe Dunn mentioned a week-ish ago the MAC was ranked the #9 conference in the nation this year, the highest it's ever been rated.
  18. This website has Nathan "Mickey" Rourke ranked as the #4 JUCO QB in the country.
  19. Can't believe I'm jealous of EMU football
  20. I'm fine with the non-D-I on the yearly schedule. I just wish they'd stick with area schools like Malone, Walsh or Mount Union. Make the game a little more fun. Show those teams a good time & treat their fans well & we'd likely have more Zips fans at the end of the night.
  21. Buffalo's playing Creighton tonight. If you are able to log in you should be able to watch the game HERE.
  22. It would have been nice to have played them before the YSU game. Get another game under our belts. We may have thought YSU would just be a warm-up game, but we looked pretty bad against them.
  23. Precisely.
  24. I especially have little confidence... presently... in the Zips' 2016-17 edition.
  25. Bump I had fun re-reading through this old thread. Thought some of you might too.
