  1. Zips counting on freshmen to provide critical minutes against undefeated Creighton
  2. I'm on my phone so can't post the link, but George Thomas just tweeted that Robotham is out for the Creighton game.
  3. I should have started a new thread about Jerome declaring for the draft instead of pasting his tweet in his recruiting thread. Here is the Akron Beacon Journal's blurb.
  4. Bible: Can't replace someone like Send-It-In-Jerome. But... we're gonna still be stacked like pancakes at WR next year. In addition to our WR's already on the roster who got decent playing time this year (Austin Wolf, Kwadarius Smith, Kevin Gladney, A.J. Coney, Anthony Lauro) we're adding... Bryce Dixon (6-4, 225) 3-star who had offers from Miami-FL, Boston College, NC State & Old Dominion Freddie Simmons (6-3, 180) 3-star who had offers from NC State, Rutgers, West Virginia, Virginia, Cal, UCF, Temple, Purdue, Western Michigan & Buffalo Thaddeus Snodgrass (6-1, 170) 4-star who had offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Purdue, West Virginia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Toledo & Ohio. Holy crap. So, hey P.J. Fleck... how ya like them apples... I mean stars?!
  5. Love Jerome. Most physically gifted WR we've ever had. But he's awfully raw & I think could have really benefited from another year here. I was looking forward to he & Woody tearing it up next year. Good luck, Jerome! Represent!
  6. The Repository scooping The Beacon Journal
  7. "I want to especially thank coaches Terry Bowden, Jeff Bowden, Matt Gildersleeve and Todd Stroud." Coach Milwee...? Hmm.
  8. We're too reliant on the 3-ball... but what else is new. Honestly, I'm not in love with our 3-guard starting lineup. Neither Noah nor Josh are quick; we need more athleticism in the starting 5. We're gonna get run off the court by more athletic teams. We started the Adrian game shooting 5-of-15 on 3's. If we start like that -vs- Creighton this game is going to be over before the 10:00 mark.
  9. Ohio.com game story
  10. That's right! Syracuse. Good year in Stark Co.
  11. Good to hear this. Watching him early I was fearful he'd be a bust.
  12. Treon Sibley was named 1st Team All-Ohio D-III @ DB.
  13. This game is so bad we're going to be less prepared to face Creighton on Saturday than we were before tip-off.
  14. Thought we'd offer Keye. I've seen him listed between 6-0 & 6-1 and 200-205 lbs. He was D-II 1st Team NEO Inland District @ LB & had crazy good stats, which I couldn't find - I'll look around a little later & see if I can find them. Btw, the above was retweeted by Justin Sampson, so they're obviously pretty tight. Good sign. Edit: I can't find his stats, but what stood out to me was that he had exactly the same # of tackles as Reggie Corner Jr. but even more solo tackles. He plays LB while Reggie played S, but still. Reggie was named D-I Inland District POY, so that shows what kind of stats Keye compiled. Btw, Zips' commit Dustin Burkhardt also retweeted the above tweet. The players we're recruiting either have, or will have, a lot of friends on the team. There's a good synergy building in the area!
  15. Pretty sure Stark Co. already has 5 D-1 players this year: 1. Malcolm Robinson, DL, Massillon 2. Thayer Munford, OL, Massillon 3. Griffin Baumoel, LB, CCC 4. Matt Carrick, OL, Perry 5. Reggi Corner Jr., S, McKinley Wouldn't be surprised if there were another one or two offered before February. I'm happy about Reggie Corner Sr. being a coach at McKinley.
  16. This dude's a tank. Built like the Incredible Hulk. 6-1, 260, and can run!
  17. My "Hot Take"... this guy's going to be Ohio's Mr. Football 2017.
  18. yesssss! So glad we got on this guy early. he is true beast!
  19. Where do you get that?
  20. Ditto. This year ended in a bitterly disappointing fashion, but this year's recruiting class is shaping up to look how I've been dreaming for 20 years Zips' recruiting classes would look. It's great! And it can get better. Lots of talent within a stone's throw of UA. Gotta keep them home!
  21. It's still eating at me how our lack of depth at QB derailed this season. Anyone remember whatever happened to this guy? Chandler was the highlight of 2014's recruiting class (along w/ Boxen). 6-4, 230, 3-star, rated by ESPN as the 26th best QB in the country & had offers from Pitt, Temple & Rutgers. Man, could we have used him this year, or what? Can't find anything on either Google or Twitter.
  22. I don't know what the exact numbers are and I have no link to reference, but I do know just from following recruiting for the past 20 years that Summit always cranks out considerably more D-I talent than Stark.
