I disagree.  Tavari did not shoot the ball well going 1 of 5 but in 20 minutes against a high pressure defense that forces a lot of turnovers he had 0 turnovers.  He also had 2 assists 3 rebounds and 2 steals.  I believe he sees the court better than any of our guards and can find the open man.   He will remain the point guard with those stats and I believe his shooting will improve based upon his stats from last year.

Good perspective. Good post.  (I'm out of 'likes.')

  2. Tavari & Thornton both had rough games again last night.

Tavari doesn't yet really look like a D1 player & Thornton hasn't yet been able to provide the steadying veteran presence I was hoping he'd provide.

I thought we ran the O pretty smoothly when Shammah was doing a lot of the ball handling. Maybe we should give him a shot at the PG spot? He's played a lot of PG in the past & I love his defense.

The JAR has the worst concessions experience out of infocision and Cub Cadet. If they can afford to open 5 different stands for a football game with maybe double the amount of people here tonight, they should at least be able to open a third window when the line is back to the doors in the lobby

A couple of my friends went to buy concessions & 10 minutes later came back to the seats empty handed complaining that there was nothing but beer on the 2nd floor & down in the lobby the lines were 25 ppl deep w/ ppl cutting in line to boot.  pee poor job. What's up with that? It's like we realized 5 minutes before opening the JAR doors that, 'Oops, I guess we'll maybe need a concessions stand open tonight?'

As far as the OL goes, we never even came close to replicating the production at right guard. Whigan’s graduation left a huge hole that we didn’t adequately fill. N. Williams hasn’t been as strong at right tackle this year either (I’m guessing nagging injuries). Center and left guard have been slightly better than last year. Left tackle has been a bit worse compared to Landers, but probably a step up compared to the other LTs from 2023. There’s a good amount of young talent in that room that will eventually make a huge difference. Unfortunately, none of them were ready this year outside of T.Williams and K. Davis and their play hasn’t been consistent. We’re probably done recruiting the OL for 2024 unless someone else transfers out. We have a transfer already on campus and the two committed HS prospects. I think the only OL we lose to graduation is Frank.

I heard from K. Landers earlier in the year & he's hoping/planning on coming back to Akron. 🙏🙏🙏
