If I wouldn't sound salty about Akron losing, I'd definitely ask for a refund on my $30. The stream video quality is good enough, but everything else...
Took them 3 game minutes to get the score to change from 0-0. The stream breaks at almost every commercial break and I have to disconnect/reconnect. The audio volume seems to fluctuate.
Looks like another half with <30 points.
I was worried about the absence of LCJ as a scorer and a facilitator coming into this season. Thought Castaneda would help ease that issue but he's been just about invisible averaging more turnovers (1.6) than assists (1.2) and 9.9 points.
This team does not have enough offense to win outside of getting hot from the perimeter. Freeman is the best player on the team, and it's not particularly close. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the offensive skill (yet?) to be able to run the offense through him. Might be a long season ahead.
Well, we'll play tomorrow to try and avoid last place in a tournament of (what we thought) were a bunch of scrub programs. Pretty depressing start to year 5 for Groce.
Amen on this. Akron basketball has been my escape from the other garbage teams I watch (Browns, Zips football, Guardians/Indians). At least the Cavs are fun to watch this year.
I can only hope I'm getting too low after the optimism I had from the game in Columbus.
19, 24, and now 21 points in 3 halves of basketball in Florida. 28 in the first half vs OSU.
So in 2.5 games vs D1 competition, the Zips have one half scoring >30 points. Not a good sign for a positive season.
I just don't think this team has enough offense. It surprises me a little that, even though they're small-school guys, that neither of the freshman guards could provide a spark on offense. As of now, we're very hard to watch.
No one wants to win and I'm not getting any work done. The Vermont/Oakland winner is gonna face some guys with tired legs tomorrow.
Headed to 3OT after Rice fouls an Evansville shooter outside the arc with 20 sec remaining. He hit all 3 to tie it, and Rice failed to score on the other end.
Looks like they have a built in gap before the back half of the bracket. As long as game 2 doesn't go to 2OT, thinking the Zips will tip on time at 5pm.
I went ahead and grabbed the one month subscription. Have Rice/Evansville playing on my extra monitor. Only complaint is there's no game clock/shot clock in the screen graphics. Hopefully they get that fixed for tonight...or have a PBP guy that will mention the clock.
