  1. Very true. Actually I can see a little in common as both seem a little stiff and mechanical on the floor. Bardo is fine in the role that is defined for him and in the MAC conference play. Against better, he has no chance of defending a quick low post guy or 3s and 4s driving to the hole. We saw a lot of that at Dayton .Euton obviously has tons more upside, esepecially on the offensive end.
  2. I love seeing that so much I took a screen shot ! O'Zoner: I was about to say something snide but I remember a comeback, something like "scoreboard". So... I will refrain for now, but it's coming later.
  3. For those who discount the words of the Penguin fan, I'd be inclined to take a seat. Butler has a lot to deal with in both Detroit and CSU this year. I know that it's easy to remember the plodding Titan teams of the past But McCallum has done a great job of picking up the pieces and rebuilding a good program. Holman is a post player who could play for just about any team and McCallum Jr. is going to be a stud. Their supportng cast of Simon and company are good enough to win with as well. I'd love to see it happen but at this point I don't see us beating either of them this year. Our best shot is catching CSU without D Brown at our place but even without Brown, the Vikes have a very solid backcourt. I just really feel that we will be playing our best ball around the beginning of Feb. rolling all the way through to the end. We will take some losses getting to that point, I think that 's a given. Also just wanted to add how much I was impressed with YSU. This team will win some games this year and certainly should be involved in many close ones. I'm planning to make a few bucks on the Pengs. this season .
  4. Always liked the the Metalica one the best. High energy... Got me pumped up .
  5. I really appreciate you bringing these post game press conferences to us. Great Job !!
  6. Damn, CJ even looked really good out there. Very assertive and athletic. It's a shame that there won't be any minutes for him because he can play a little ball.
  7. He must have heard me, he's running a clinic on 3 pt shooting in the second half. I admit it, I should have kept my mouth shut.
  8. 51-24 half Positives: Zeke, Steve, Dakota, Overall team defense. Also Alex looks pretty smooth out there but having a tough time getting them to drop. Quincy had a very impressive behind the back drive to the hoop. All three of the new guys have made a favorable impression on me. Negatives: McClankahand, Will this guy ever step up and become a respectable D1 player ? Roberts also has shot it badly. Maybe I'm a little tough on Brett but he has yet to impress me in a Zips uniform.
  9. The Titans really improved last year and are expected to have a nice year in the Horizon. McCallum has done a terrific job of building the program back up. Eli Holman, an Indiana transfer, is a very nice player and a real load down low. On the positive side, their home court is not that big of a deal. They usually don't draw that well so we have a shot. I was really surprised by Oakland's status.
  10. Good to hear. I think that Jimmy has the game to play in Europe if this doesn't work out. Chris knew that his best chance to keep playing was to head over there so Im really glad to see that he's found a spot. Anybody know how Romeo is doing ? Those guys in Europe make some pretty nice money as well. I dont know what the D league pays ???
  11. Thats a good call Dave. We sit right behind the Zip's bench and we heard it all. Humpty just really lost it several times last year and he had some really ugly rants at Nik, Nitro and others. I had the pleasure of spending some time with Humpty last year when he appeared at a school assembly along with Chris and Jimmy. All three were perfect gentlemen and they were great when they had plenty of interaction with the young kids. I really believe that Hump is a good person but his emotions just get the best of him at times. Don't forget that episode late in the Ark. Pine Bluff game last year when Humpty just lost it bigtime. I wish him well and hope he's a good fit with his new team. I think he'll do well.
  12. I can understand Nitro getting some early starts as it can boost his confidence. I'm just not sold on him though. To me, it always appeared that he had the old " deer in the headlights " look as he entered the games last year. His strength is his shooting and he had a rough time knocking them down. I also think he's a defensive liability at the 3 spot. I just think he has a rough time with quicker or stronger guys. I really hope that he has improved because it's obvious that he's a good kid and his effort is always strong. Between him and Brett I think it's about a toss up at this point. Brett just has not become the player that he was expected to be. He needs to really bring it this season. The 3 spot has me worried.
  13. Boy, it would be fantastic if we could go down and steal a win in Dayton. It would do wonders for their confidence right out of the gate. I can not recall being so excited about the Zips opening their season before. With so many quality new guys and a buffed up Zeke this figures to be a very interesting ride. I am officially in the can't wait mode right now.
  14. I like Waters and respect him as a quality coach. Besides that he had the good sense to get out of Can't. I also agree that a home & home with the Vikes would be a good draw. I know that I would attend both games.
  15. Thats a quality post and one that I agree with 100%. I thought Zeke got better and better at kicking it back out as the season progressed. When defenses sag on him down on the block somebody is always wide open for a jumper. Just got to knock them down !
  16. To this day, Ced remains near the top of my all time favorite Zips. I'm very pleased to hear this.
  17. Stop the madness, there is only one thing that OU really cares about http://news.lalate.com/2009/07/27/princeto...y-schools-2010/ Steve Coleman is back on the team. Apparently someone spoke sense to him. If true, then OU really dodged one here. Their only concern next year might be the lack of a true center, which you can usually get away with in the MAC. Most anybody would be an improvement over the departed KVK who was the closest thing that they had to a center.
  18. Ennis is the guy that I am most excited about. We will have some real race horses in our backcourt. IMO, Keith will have no other choice but to turn them loose and let them run the floor. I think we will be in for some really entertaining basketball, should be a lot of fun !
  19. Yeah you're right it was lame. I forgot that you can't have any fun on this forum so I'm sorry Dave, no offense. Hey Max, I have a Great Dane named Max. You two related?
  20. It's on your little profile on the left of your posts. It's part of your screen name. We all get it, you live in Green and I want you to know that I am very impressed !! Can I change my moniker to Mark in the ghetto ??
  21. I'll miss Humpty's spark and personality and I'll miss Ronnie's smoothness in running the offense. As his minutes increased, he really looked comfortable out there and the offense was a couple of steps quicker. I am sure that he would have been a nice asset to have going forward. I just hope we are getting some good speed at the guard spots because we have none now. Data Shmata, its just a game. Enjoy it !!
  22. I got the letter from the basketball office yesterday and once again there will be a celebration night with buffet at the JAR on April 23. I am on the fence right now but will probably attend just to say goodbye to Chris, Jimmy and Tim. Whatcha think, is this season worth celebrating? Who's in and who's out and why ? I'm curious about the feelings of the true Zip fan on this one.
  23. Chris is nothing short of a terrific young man. Who ever is lucky enough to be Chris's employer after he leaves UA is getting one hell of a good guy. Hopefully he'll have a long and successful stint in Europe.
  24. Ok, I'll bite. Shut up !! My dad always told me: "You can't argue with stupid" so I'll just leave it at that.
  25. Put a lid on what? Playing his butt off?Looked to me that Humpty was the driving spark that ignited the down trodden Zips.No way should he tone it down. Just the opposite .. turn up the wick.Uh, OK
