I know that I am. This 3-18 team should have beaten the Flushes as well as OUon the road, only losing by 2pts in both games. If Newell drops his 2 free throws in OT Can't would have been toast. There is so very little that seperatesthe top dogs from the bottom feeders in this conference that every road game scares me.This one in particular just worries the crap out of me.

The way its going, maybe thats a good thing . Email tech support/billing and cancel. They killed my account and stopped the billing almost instantly for me.

At your service: You will have to register for the one month plan as it appears that there are no options to purchase individual games. WMU site

Yes, that is a terrific website. Tons of free sports

I actually checked multiple resources and the only possible way that I have come up withis signing up for a month of the Bronco insider on their site for 10 bucks for the webcast.Hopefully the quality of their production is much better than the crap we put out on Zips zonewhich is perhaps the poorest webcasting of basketball that I have yet to observe. The horizon leaguedoes a fantastic job of exposing their product free of charge with very good quality. Here in Akron, you must shell out cash for rock bottom production of Zips hoops. Go figure.

Nate's been great but Dials is the blood and guts of this team. Nick's grit, determination and leadership make him my MVP.I really believe if we were without him that we would be close to .500 team.

I'm somewhat amazed by all of the attention given to the VCU game and how little that has been devoted to tonights game.If we are to entertain serious thoughts of knocking down a top seed in the MAC tourney, this is the road game we must get. With very tough road trips to Miami and OU looming, I think we need to get two wins from these three road games in order to hope for a number one seed. I'm not optimistic about all of that occuring, but a road win tonight against a tough veteran WMU squad would do wonders for the mindset of the Zips. I think if we were to lose this one tonight our chances for a first round bye in Cleveland are minimal. If we don't take care of our business in the MAC the VCU game means squat.

If we don't come out of the gate better than we have in the last 3 games we could be in for a long day. Big momentum swings to the visitor are not likely in KZoo if we get down a bunch early. Not trying to bring bad vibes but I'm very nervous about this one.
-
Just heard that Ced probably won't go tonight and that Wood will be "limited" by a knee sprain. Anybody got the inside scoop??Think we are deep enough at the guard spot, but the status of our big guy makes me nervous. The report seems to make sense after seeing Wood's defensive effort at CMU. He was not very active and Minnoy got off frequently down low.

Actually, Payne has been gone from day one. His absence has been a problem that the Rockets have not found an answer for.He was expected to carry a big load for UT this season.

Lloyd (mad dog) Christian: " I just CAN'T beat those Zips! -
Well, It looks like the game will be on time warner. Thats good!Play by play will be by Bill Needle, the absolute poorest play by playman in the recorded history of sports. Thats bad.Anybody know of a good spot that has time warner? Most places now have dish or direct tvso I need a place to watch it as I refuse to step foot in the city of Can't.Where is the best place to see the game??

Zen, Thats a keeper, Thank You very much !!

Think Ozoner put it pretty well in his thread. They are just accepting the reality of knowing that when Tim O'Shea is on the bus out of Athens that good things are not too likely to occur. In Athens the 'cats are still very tough.

This sucker was easy !! Any good photoshop guys out there? I'd love to edit this with Zippy's or keith's head.

All I can say this morning is WOW. That ten minute stretch to close the first half was beyond a doubt the best hoops I have ever witnessed at the Jar.The good:Mc Nees : I stated here last week that he may already be the best guard on this team. Fantastic performance.Wood: his ball skills have improved dramaticaly. Everytime he was doubled he kicked it to an open teamate for an open shot. The behind the back slam brought the house down.Dials: What may get lost in the headlines is that Nick did a tremendous job on TPollitz last night. He completely frustrated a great player.Linhart: Same smothering D administered to Bramos. he was stuck on 0 until nearly the half way mark in the 2nd half. Nate has locked down multiple game 30+ point scorers the last two games.C McKnight : Finally some productive minutes. I really like this kid but his growth as a player has puzzled me. He needs to be more aggressive and step it up. He has all the tools to do so.Zips fans: The intensity of the crowd was right there with the Can't game. They knew we had to have this one and they responded.Negatives:Not a one. This team is gelling and getting better by the day. Too bad we have to wait a week for the next game. We Can't stop 'em boys, start up the bus.

.I agree that a win over Illinois is not a huge deal, however beating Xavier is very impressive. have you seen Xavier lately? They look awesome. The Miami game is always my favorite game of the year, the last four in this series have gone down to the last possession and thats what makes this match up so great for the spectator. Every possession is important, every basket is hard earned and meaningful. Tim Pollitz is a freaking beast and must be contained.I'll call it Akron 55Sweaters 52GO ZIPS!!
-
Sorry Charlie, you are not going to loot our MAC bounty this time.Go walk the plank and take those ugly Pollitz kids with you.

No TV, however CSTV will have the video feed live online. This is very cool CSTV

The Quade Alley-Oop may have been the most spectactular one that I have ever seen. He had to have been close to 15 ft. from the hoop when the perfect pass was launched and seemingly came from out of nowhere to throw it down.McNees has impressed me from day one. The offense just looks crisper when Steve is running the point. He pushes the ball up the floor with very good energy and makes better descisions with each passing game. I told my wife last night that I'm not so sure that he may be our best guard on the team right now. That said, despite obviously not being 100% Dials was huge down the stretch and delivered when the Zips needed him the most. Positives:Lots of great passing and assists last night.Wood, very aggressive. great gameMcNeesFree throw shooting seems to be getting consistantly better. If there is a negative taken from the game it would be that we just could not seem to get a stop when we were really close to putting UIC away. I'm not sure that our defense is quite where we need it to be. Another negative? BARDO: STOP PUTTING THE BALL ON THE FLOOR !! GO UP STRONG !!It was one of the better games I've seen at the jar in a while. It was so nice to not have a whistle every damn trip down the floor for a change, I'll give the officials credit, they did a very good job.I can't wait for the Miami game, its time to go to war.

Looking forward to watching this one as defense is not the strength of the Aggies. All the major opponents have scored 80 + on them so it should be an entertaining affair. They did beat Depaul on their own floor so I don't take them lightly. One advantage for the Zips is that this will be the Aggies 2nd game on the road in three nights after getting pounded by a very good Mizzou team on Monday. There won't be a line on this one because they are not affiliated with one of the "lined conferences" but I'll call it Akron 86-71.

Basketball Rankings - An Early Look
The Hip Zip replied to skip-zip's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
I wouldn't tab the Portland State loss a bad loss yet. They are thought of as an up and coming program and have some talent. We'll have to see how they progress through the season to know how bad of a loss it really was. -
Got close last time with the Binghampton game...so here goes.Zips get great inside play from Wood and Bardo. Look for Mike's first career double-double, or at least close to it. Zips hit 65-70% of their free throws and a strong game from the guards, led by mcnees 6 assists and dials 4 3pt baskets, the zips win by a surprisingly slim margin.Akron 77Temple 73A 4 point win would appear to be logical. Temple's Tyndale and Christmas can both be explosive.and if they are on their game it could be a long night. Zips will need their A game tonight and that still might not do it.

Did not play vs. Portland State ? Can't recall French calling his name at all last night. Is he sick, hurt or already in KD's doghouse?
