He is relatively young and appears to be in good health. If this counts as TWO strong points please delete one.

PN7 was 15 of 26 for 134 yards with 1 interception. Don't know how many sacks, but he had -26 yards on 10 "rushes." As a team, Zips had a grand total of 20 rushing yards in 28 attempts for a rushing average of .7 yards. The punting game was pretty decent. 1) THIRTEEN of those 15 completions were to TRUE FRESHMEN. 2) Temple did not run effectively until the game was WELL out of hand. While the offense continued to be inept, I thought that today the defense was on the verge of ept.

I tuned in and was pretty sure I was watching the wrong game. Almost half time: 6-0? Quarterback taking the snap in the shotgun? Completion to the tight end? Then I recognized Akron. Ball batted away from QB. False start. Blocked field goal attempt. GO ZIPS!!

They score 75 unanswered, but penalties wipe out a field goal and a safety resulting in your 70-2 prediction.

Journalism standards have fallen...somewhere, Zipmeister is weeping... I'm to upset (even moor then ewe) two weep.

Wow, both Go and 37 spent time in the good life.

that was believable 6 weeks ago, questionable 5 weeks ago, very unlikely 4 weeks ago, laughable 3 weeks ago, and impossible two weeks ago....i wont even get into last week or this week. So you're thinking I'm spot on this week? GO ZIPS

I'm going out on a limb here and predicting a 14 point Zips win.

OK, who didn't vote in the West team balloting? Preseason all conference selections are a nice gesture and better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Otherwise, they are fairly useless.

I knew this was going to happen.

My apologies. I accused you of summarizing an article in the completely wrong thread. Move on, nothing to see here. http://www.southbendtribune.com/article/20.../101029476/1130

Congratulations on summarizing the article in this older thread. http://zipsnation.org/forums//index.php?sh...c=20148&hl= as Frank Drebin said in Police Academy "Nothing to see here."

Multi-tasking: rocking and listening.

More importantly, how many fans will spot him on the sideline during the first half if he isn't there?

iCoach is a total failure and has no clue as a head coach. He's pushing a scheme on a team that's not suitable for it. He's got talent but doesn't know how to use it. I think you are overstating the case here. He is NOT a total failure, but it might not be long till he gets there.

I think our new facilities make opposing players way too comfortable here. What we need is a dump of a stadium with pathetic locker rooms to depress the opposition before the game even starts. If we could locate the stadium remotely from the attractive campus that might help too. p.s Lee, you must be trying to drum up business for Google. I'll bet 80% of this board doesn't have a clue who Rocky Colavito is.

I heard Icoach eats puppies.
-
So I got back in late. Did we win by 14?
-
I blame Bush and all other college football coaches who recruited athletes who are bigger, faster and stronger than ours.

sorry, couldn't pass this one up! With all your tongue-in-cheek military personnel knowledge, one must wonder what military credentials you hold. Perhaps (and you set yourself up for this), maybe a stint with the US Navy as a "Rear Admiral". That's rank.

The defensive line must be doing a pretty good job setting the table for all those Wagner tackles. We should be making every effort to schedule New Mexico, New Mexico State, San Jose State, and Western Kentucky in the next several years.

I hope he throws for 400 yards and loses just like he did against Toledo. So far Carder and his team have only figured out how to beat Nicholls State (whom I have never even heard of) and Ball State. We have GOT to be able to put some assemblance of a game plan together that can compete with that!?!? In General, I would say its a Major disappointment to learn that you have never heard of the Colonels. Fortunately for you, despite your lack of knowledge the Sargent at arms will be administering no Corporal punishment this time. Please Captain your resources to prevent this situation from reoccurring. If and when such punishment is required we will try to keep it Private. http://www.geauxcolonels.com/

Zips Vs. Michigan (soccer)
Zipmeister replied to RootforRoo44's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
How many games would a decent team lose against a killer schedule like this? http://www.butlersports.com/sports/m-socce...msoccerschedule -
Nicely is the least of our problems. He's a better QB than Rodgers. But the guy has no OL, and no WR's. Because he's apt to run, Rodgers may be a better QB for our present situation. I'd like to have seen him get a shot. But I'm under no illusions that changing a QB is anything but, to quote ZipsWin!, "rearranging chairs on the Titanic." I like this quote. ZipsWin, with your permission, can I use this in my personal and professional life? Seriously though, to me this is no longer an issue of which QB might be better. Although, I can't deny that PN has underperformed even my own low expecations for him. But, the much bigger issue is what's in the best interest of Akron football? And the reality is, Matt gets closer and closer to the end of his career as the weeks roll along. And if we leave him sit much longer, we will have boxed ourselves into a corner with only one option. And I don't want to see us put all of our eggs in one basket. Especially when that basket has a lot of holes in the bottom. We've seen Matt play very little in his career (2 full games), and he was productive against good teams in both of those games. I'd like to see if his abilities can help us. If he fails, PN is still an experienced 2nd option. But If we go much longer with PN, we won't have a 2nd option. Not a huge thing, but the quip "rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic" has been used countless times, by countless people, for many many years. You surely don't need the approval of any posters here to use it, as none of the posters here came up with it to begin with. I don't believe you. Can you provide a Internet site like google.answer to verify your assertion that someone other than a Zip fan came up with the Titanic deckchair statement?
