Agreed. And I love your additions of Army and Navy. I really like Southern Illinois though too...perhaps in place of ECU? Like the idea of 3 divisions; very Conference USAish. I love the idea but the new conference is unbalanced with 9 members. I would prefer 12 members that include Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, and Dayton (moving to FBS). I am curious, where might this leave Can't? Dayton doesn't offer any football scholarships as it stands now...how would they jump from 0 to 85? I propose they add one each year for the next 85 years.

This is the best topic anyone has come up with all year. Congratulations. Interesting that you asked for multiple strengths but only one weakness. I would say that one of the team's strengths is the ability to take one pounding after another. A weakness would be allowing one team after another to pound them.

I think we should do it. But leave western division at 6 teams and increase eastern division to 8 teams. Would help make the MAC unique.

What is the story with SMU, Blue & Gold? I bet things like this happen much more often than anyone would expect. Could Auburn leaving the SEC trigger another conference shakedown? Ahh, sorry - I should have taken the time to be more precise. The SMU "Death Penalty" happened yeeeears ago - when I was a little kid, maybe before I was born, Idk. I do know it was way before I knew anything at all about college football. But SMU used to be a perennial national power. However, they were cited for multiple & serious recruiting violations & had a ton of schollies taken away - almost killing the football program. I believe rather than presenting a precise explanation you have demonstrated that a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

I can't believe we lost to those two squads. I think our match strategies have lacked the kind of imagination that it takes to be competitive at the regional level, let alone the national level. How long are we gonna keep our current gun coach? It is my understanding that our current coach had no previous head gun coaching experience before assuming the position here. In the 4th quarter it looks like we may pull this one out. Up by 15, I'm not sure what will transpire in the time remaining so that I hit yet another prediction right on the nut. Following today’s game on ESPN gamecast, another idea to increase student attendance at home games occurred to me. If you are a full time student with football eligibility and you show up to the game your name gets put in a hat and we draw names for the opportunity to kick extra points. I think a lot of students would be interested in doing this and we really wouldn’t score that many less points than we do on extra point attempts now. Probably should draw by quarters at the beginning of each quarter because if all the names get drawn at the beginning of the game, most of those who were not selected are likely to leave right away.

Zach, we already have slots well over the max allowed of 25 available next year and I believe the following year as well. Guys may be run off or leave on their own accord, but I can't see why Ianello would need to run anyone else for scholarships. At this point, he needs bodies. Zipboy, we generally don't make Zach think...it gets in the way of the rambling.
