Many high school student athletes considering which college to attend may conduct their search alphabetically, and those that do are going to run across the University of Akron way before they run across the University of Alabama, and when they learn of our cool alternative uniforms - well Alabama doesn't stand much of a chance.

Well that's not a good sign for Akron; although I know UD would be thrilled to have him on their squad.

If the individuals who were drafted elected to pursue a professional baseball career I believe they forfeit collegiate baseball eligibility although this would not prevent them from attending the university (and even participating in another varsity sport) so I guess they could become Zips. I don't know if the hockey rink at the Nutter Center was dedicated or not. I'd wager most hockey rinks are indifferent by nature. I do know that occasionally slippery spots developed on the basketball floor that was placed on top of the rink.

To sweeten the deal for locals the university could pledge that members of the university basketball team do regular ride-alongs with the deputies.
