  3. Lunardi currently has us as a 16 seed, but personally I think we could go as high as a 13 or 14. Current 13 seeds according to Lunardi: Princeton, Bucknell, Belmont, Oakland Current 14 seeds according to Lunardi: Long Island, Morehead State, Indiana State, Wofford Current 15 seeds according to Lunardi: St. Peters, UCSB, Northern Colorado, UNC Asheville Current 16 seeds (not play-in games): Boston U, Akron Current Play-in games: Alabama State/Hampton, UALR/Texas San Antonio For comparison sake here are the realtime RPI numbers for all of the above teams (Akron is right now at 117 and trending upwards): Princeton-47 Belmont-52 Oakland-53 Long Island-76 Morehead State-79 Bucknell-80 Indiana State-85 St. Peters-93 Northern Colorado-99 Wofford-109 Boston U-132 UNC Asheville-148 Hampton-163 UCSB-171 UALR-189 San Antonio-202 Alabama State-269 Just going off of these numbers we should be a fifteen seed at least. zips can beat any one of those teams
  4. Can't Wait! if memory serves....we were a 12 seed vs the 5 gonzaga correct? i can see a similiar situation i.e. going west as a 12 or 13 We were 13th seed and Gonzaga was the 4th seed... thnx....i knew it was something like that....

  6. give that big boy an extra hug for all of us....well done young man! as for the big dance....just being there isn't enough for me....this program could take a huge leap forward with a win or two well done to the entire team & staff....but your task is not over!
  7. a step in the right direction would be to get to the ncaa tourney & win a game or two & get some attention
  8. Indian Valley, as in Bobby Huggins? I went to Tuscarawas Valley, but like you, live in Brunswick now. born in dennison, raised in uhrichsville, graduated from tuscarawas central catholic hs (saints)....graduated two w/ bachelor degrees from UA '93...........currently live in dover......oh yea & worked at hilarities!
  9. Urichsville isn't exactly in Athens' backyard. Interesting to discover another native of Tuscarawas County on the board. three...
  10. since espn thinks the liberty bracketbusters game shld be televised before tehe zips..i've been trolling for tv lnks...adht has nothing yet this may be a possibility http://www.gocreighton.com/liveEvents/live...?DB_OEM_ID=1000 i will continue the search...if anyone else finds something have at it...
  11. who cares about winning the east? what will that get the zips, a first rd bye in the mac tourney? i'd rather win the mac tourney, than worry about winning the east division...this team is miles from either

  16. took my soon to be six year old son..............the stadium is great, what a wonderful atmosphere for, and i use this term loosely....college football....i had section 115 all to myself sans another father and son...which segues into the pathetic team on the field.... should have know when TW hired coach I it wasn't on merit but rather they were together at a prior location (wisconsin)... if akron wants to be a consistent contender they should be teams like GW by 17 points each and every time...no excuses... this talk outta some of you about being the boise st of the east or moving to the big east is laughable....based on what i've seen...nothing is different from JD era....mediocre talent, mediocre coaching...embarassing results... i was disgusted yesterday and remain so today....
  17. God Bless you if being better than 4-28 Toledo is your bar. I really wish I could have that mindset. Life would be so much less stressful. The good news for you - I think we will be better than Toledo next season too. Party on, Dude. Let's see, Dambrot wants this program to be known as the Gonzaga of the east, however here are some bad realities: If the NCAA expanded the field to 96 THIS year the Zips still would not have made it based on the field + the 32 NIT teams can't beat wisc-gb on your home floor is some manufactured crappy tourney gutless OCC schedule and a piss poor explantion from the HC as to why he schedules the way he does....now we know better thanks to zachs great website find about schools looking for home and homes lose 3 out of 4 MAC Championship games is NOT the way to become any type of "known" program meanwhile Can't wins their NIT game and now will face a big ten school (Ill) on espn2..more national exposure long way to go folks....
  18. All I can tell you from my perspective is, no, I don't think KD is that far off. A little off of what it would take to accomplish what Utah State accomplished, but not a lot. As we've discussed before, I think it's a simple matter of replacing 2 or 3 of the weakest opponents in the 200-300 RPI range with 2 or 3 opponents closer to 100 RPI. Utah State did benefit this year from the fact that 3 other WAC teams had RPI ratings of 79 or higher, and they were 4-2 against these 3 conference teams in the regular season and 1-1 against them in the tournament, for a 5-3 record against high RPI teams in their own conference. If this year's MAC had the same percentage of high RPI teams as the WAC, and the Zips had the same percentage winning record against those teams as Utah State, the Zips would have had a much higher SOS and RPI even with the weak OOC schedule. Utah St. has no business in this tourney... the zips play a gutless occ schedule end of story
  19. you ppl make me sick...."tweedle dee...it's ok we lost...lets frolic thru the lillys..."i'm still pissed...furious....
  20. I'm with you 100%. After driving back and forth to the Q for three days, I thought I was going to be angry and depressed if the Zips lost tonight. But they played their hearts out and almost came up with yet another miracle finish.Numbness is a great description. I do feel numb. I also feel sad for the players that their season is ended after they tried so hard to make it two straight trips to the NCAA tournament. They came so darn close, and I'm so darn proud of them for never giving up. They were just outplayed tonight by the smallest of margins. A different bounce of the ball on a single possession could have produced a different result.Kudos to KD for getting his team to the MAC championship game for four straight years. How many other coaches have ever achieved that in the MAC?I'm already looking forward to next season.bunch of damn apologists, you better be furious about this loss....3 outta 4 and here we go with the "oh it's ok" attitude...
  21. I'll give 'Zips Supporter' credit, his party is organized. the officials sucked no doubt, Ohio was in the bonus in the 2nd half with 11+ left ...however 8-30 from 3pt land won't help either....this garbage about the gonzaga of the east is laughable...this team COULD have had 4 straight ncaa appearances...JC it's hard enough to get to the MAC title game, but in classic akron fashion let's set the record for most championship game loses...i'm still pissed

  23. the zips play a gutless OCC sked....they should emulate Can't State's OCC sked...and it pains me to say that, but would it matter?they'd just embarass themselvs like saturday...which btw, i've about had it with dambrots manic sub patterns....no group gets to develop any chemistryi'd start humpty, both mcknights, JC & zeke
  24. I think they were saying that the doubleheader on saturday will be on ONN...ok allow me to clarify....the vcu game will be on epsnu......the buffalo game will be on fso
