  6. Crew2 win 1st MLSNEXTPRO Cup 4-1.
  7. The guy from Medina (who played college ball at WF) and the ZipsMSoc alum who sneaks the ball in a few minutes later and just before half
  8. In the past, we used to have issues at BUGS because they "park the bus" which they did again packing their penalty area with defenders again last night. However, we now seem to let them dictate the style of play. Frustrating to watch us at times continue to keep the ball in the air when we had time to settle it to the ground and play our style. Harder than it looks, especially on the road, but I had hoped that we would settle in more and dictate our style of play. 3 MAC matches on the road sucks, but on to Chicago State. One at a time, please Zips. No looking ahead.
  9. It’s tough having to watch the closest MLS team vie for one of the final 2022 MLS Cup playoff spots, but I can’t be upset when another of our ZipsMSoc alum and his team qualify. Congratulations to DeAndre Yedlin and Inter Miami on clinching a playoff spot last night.
  10. Chad Barson cleared the ball off the line via his shin, but the ESPN announcer mistakenly said looked like Valentin. As I recall, the barrage occurred for what seemed like an eternity of about 1 minute from 88:29 to 89:28.

  12. Thanks @LoyalZIP and ZTV. Love the story about the linesman [corrected] walking off during the Cal game. That's the first time I've heard one of the coaches tell the story. Worth listening for that story and the story about preparing for and playing Louisville in the title game. MANY THANKS for posting that. 12 years later, and I still tear up watching and re-living the Zips Mens Soccer 2010 National Championship experience as well as the 2009 season, knowing how GREAT that team was!
  13. Thanks @TennZip We saw James and Josh Bartels at the NIU game. What a great game for Zips recruiting. Witnessing the Zips play, I can just imagine recruits saying sign me up!!!

  15. Yes, that is correct. With the MAC only fielding 5 Men's Soccer teams this season, the 2022 MAC automatic NCAA Tournament berth will be decided by 1 additional game between the top 2 teams at the end of the regular season, during which each team will play the others home and away. Given the regular season format, the 1 game "playoff" seems silly, but it is the MAC.
  16. Huge shout out to #6 Sammy Tojaga who, in this game, looked like he hasn't missed a beat! As @TennZipalready stated, so happy to have Sammy back in the starting lineup and getting significant, well-played minutes. Shout out to #23 Joel Sangwa who is a stalwart on defense. Making good decisions and rarely going back to the Keeper...keeping the defense out of trouble. Shout outs to #11 Will Jackson who has stepped in beautifully at CB and #27 Ashton Kamdem for his play at LB. Shout out to #5 Malik Henry whose speed and agility opened up play. Shout out to #4 to Jonas Buechte and his many great decisions and steady play. Agree with malonepioneer on shout outs to #7 Josh Hallenberger, #8 Ryan Kingsford, and #19 Dyson Clapier. Shout outs to #1 GK Mitch Budler, #13 Joey Paulus, #9 Jason Shokalook, #15 Johnny Fitzgerald, and #16 Wan Kuzri Wan Kamal. Shout outs to all of our players who came in and played well giving the starters needed rest. Commanding victory thanks to GREAT TEAM EFFORT!!! Let's keep this going!!! GO ZIPS!!!
