High school RBs are generally versatile athletes. They play that position because their coaches want the ball in the hands of their best athletes. They could switch to LB, catch passes, or play special teams.

I had thought of doing that about an hour after I posted the 2013 thread. By then it was too late but I learned a lot from this thread and it should be easier to keep things organized and simplified going forward.

Signing day is Feb 1st, next Wednesday. I started this thread to see where the players we recruited ended up, and to discern the recruiting patterns of a coach who is no longer employed here or recruiting for us. I saw how he operated and this thread served its purpose. I'll be a bit more organized with the 2013 class. But as for this thread, I am deleting the section where it listed which schools players chose over us. It is no longer relevant and it's become too unwieldy when I try to edit things. So I'm only keeping the uncommitted players that we have offered, along with the list of verbals. It's a new era of Zips recruiting. Time for a fresh start. I'm sorry if for whatever reason somebody wanted to know that a kid went to NC State or whatever and now they can't find it. But I need to tighten my focus as we get to "crunch time" in the recruiting world.

I see them as being about the same level as Detroit, who we beat 81-63 at home.

There are only two coaches in the MAC that vote, from WMU and CMU. And in their minds, OU and Can't are still the bigger threats because they've been focused on their own division. But now's our chance to blow them out by bigger margins than OU and Can't. We can not show these two teams any mercy if we want to get ahead in this poll.

Honestly, unless you're a fellow student or know the athletes personally, you're probably better off just following the coaches and official accounts. The athletes are college kids and their twitter pages are used for personal reasons, not to keep fans updated on how their team is doing. It's not much different than friending them on Facebook.

The games will be announced next week. Joe Lunardi sees us as a TV game. It's insider-only. Other MAC TV games are Valpo at Ohio and Buffalo at George Mason (nothing is said about these games, implying that they're just TV filler for the bigger matchups like our own). We should expect to be given one of the top TV billings, which means you can throw geography out the window when looking at potential opponents.
