  1. Hey now, that was their second largest crowd of the season!
  2. An entirely different one.
  3. The defender's back foot was inside the restricted arc so if anything was a blocking foul.
  4. The ideal arena is Dayton's. It's absolutely perfect. But I think it could be modified to fit a hockey rink with minimal changes, and it's a sacrifice I'm willing to accept if it's the only way to get it built.
  5. We're in 60th place right now. About 200 behind Utah State and 900 behind UCF. Also, we can change our slogan to FEAR THE ROO by "roar"-ing that the most. Would you be more likely to want a FEAR THE ROO shirt or a LETS TO ZIPS shirt?
  6. Whoops. Forgot about them.
  7. Ohio beats Buffalo at home 60-50.
  8. CMU picks up a road win at EMU, 60-56. Looking like CMU and Akron will be the only 2-0 teams in the MAC. Road wins are precious.
  9. WMU beats NIU 77-68 at home.
  10. Can't beats Miami 71-67 at home, after trailing most of the game. Miami appears tougher than we gave them credit for.
  11. HARNEY! HELL YES! We have broken the Stroh Center.
  12. Gotta make your FTs.
  13. Harney for three. Tie game.
  14. This team needs to develop their mental toughness.
  15. Just like Miami. It's like he flips a switch on for the last five minutes of the game.
  16. Alright. Put something together here.
  17. They're not playing angry. Attack the hoop. Power through the zone.
  18. Buffalo 25, Ohio 31 halftime.
  19. I think the coaches were hoping that Nitro would break out of his funk against a zone-happy BG team. Guess not.
  20. Halftime scores: Miami 37, Can't 33 CMU 19, EMU 25 NIU 30, WMU 34
  21. Alright. Updated the list. We have six players that are enrolled and six that are verbally committed. Three more and we will match the amount of players lost to graduation. I look for a total of around 22 scholarship players in this class. Enough to add some depth and get us back to a decent amount of scholarship players. Three or four should be standout players, and maybe eight will see significant playing time as freshmen.
  22. Interesting that a distinction is made between "inside receivers" and "outside receivers". I surmise that the IWRs will be kind of like TEs. Also shows that we are going to pass the ball a whole heck of a lot.
  23. http://www.zips.ohio.com/2012/01/zips-foot...n-campus-early/ Couple of new names there. Rasor gets the scoop six early signings. Enrolling early means participating in spring practices, which will help out since we sorely lack the depth needed to run effective practices. I'll edit the list to reflect this news later this evening when I have access to a computer. Its too unwieldy to do on the phone I'm posting from.
  24. Tonight there's only one game, and the other five are tomorrow. Tonight Ball State plays at Toledo. It's surprising to see two MAC West teams with an overall winning record play at this point in the season.
  25. This thread is about keeping track of who Akron has offered and where they end up, in an effort to get an idea of who our coaches are trying to recruit against. Check the original post in the thread for a complete list of all the players Akron has offered that are still on the board, all the Akron commitments (we're up to ten now!), and who the other kids we offered chose over Akron. I started it to see whether our previous coach really was recruiting the way I thought he was, and it validated my suspicions. Now we have a new coach with a new recruiting philosophy, but with an extremely limited timeframe to recruit and a bunch of players with outstanding offers. Most of "his" recruits will be players originally offered by Ianello. If there's one thing Ianello could do, he could identify talent. He just had trouble actually getting that talent to commit to playing for him, as the offer board shows. So now we have offers out to talented players and a coach that they might actually want to play for.
